In the Bible it says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Jesus said,"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."-John 6:47. The concept of these verses is putting your faith in Jesus Christ. Is it enough for a person to say,"Jesus I am a sinner, I believe your death on the cross saves me, please forgive me of all my sins and save me. Amen." would that be enough for them to be saved? Or would someone have to say,"Jesus I believe that you are God, and that God the Father rose you from the dead." Is one right and one wrong? Would both work? I read of a man pray exactly this, "Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for me. Fogive me and cleanse me. Right this moment I trust you as Savior and Lord. Make me the type of person You created me to be. In Christ's name, Amen." And changes in his life showed that he was saved.

Who is good?
~Romans 3:10~
As it is written, There is none righteous, no,not one.
Who has sinned?
~Romans 3:23~
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Where sin came from.
~Romans 5:12~
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin,and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
God's price of sin.
~Romans 6:23~
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Who paid The price?
~Romans 5:8~
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The only way out.
~Romans 10:9-10~
That if youshalt confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture says, whosoever believes in him shall not be ashamed.
Take God at his word and claim His promise for your salvation.
~Romans 10:13~
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
You should pray in your own words, and put all your trust in him as your saviour and Lord. But keep in mind,it's not a 'magic prayer' or 'magic words'.I recommend that you start attending a church and get baptized too.You can email me if you have any questions or concerns. :)

Joe, you are 98% right with "Jesus I am a sinner, I believe you died on the cross to save me, please forgive me of all my sins and save me. Amen." Also add "I invite you into my heart to abide with me and be my Savior." I strongly believe that statement plays an integral part in asking Jesus for salvation. Remember it has to be sincere (I'm sure you are). It is all the above, your sins will be washed away (up to that point) and part of Gods' spirit should enter you. You may or may not feel much different right away, if you don't, you will. You'll feel a strange force within you.
God bless you.

Yes you must profess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord but according to the scriptures I cannot find a specific saying that makes you magically saved. The scripture below refers to baptism as being the time of salvation. However if you do not obey God you cannot be his disciple. Naturally you will never be sin free, but if you continue to live a life of sin you cannot have a relationship with the Lord.
Acts 2
36"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
37When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"
38Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."
40With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." 41Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

All of those passages are applicable and not independently pick and choose quizes. There is one more you missed that must complete the context of salvation...,
ACTS 2:38 is the complete one page details of salvation without having to send a person back and forth throughout the Bible. It does not take a rocket scientist to put it all together in its proper context.
Salvation is not complex, nor should it be. After all, while even rich people are welcome to salvation, the Gospel was for the poor and the poor more times than not included the uneducated, the dregs of society no one wanted. Those who had nothing now had the opportunity to have more than possessions. Eternal life which comes through Christ Jesus.

The last prayer that you posted was the closest. You must confess that you are a sinner, and that you believe that Jesus died for your sins, and ask Him to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior. You are supposed to live a holy life after that to show that you have faith in what Jesus tells you.

If one must say a certain number of exact words to be saved then the world will indeed be lost.
Salvation is a matter of the heart acknowledging the need for a savior and then believing the work of the savior was, is and shall be enough to bring us into the presence of God.
It is not the words. It is the attitude.

Salvatoin is a lifetime proccess. There is an initial justification when someone Believes, Confesses, Repents and is Baptized. And we can be assured of our salvation in Christ. However are FAITH should be continually transforming us more and more into the likeness of Christ.
However, you can not just pick and choose which verses you want to follow. The Bible also speaks of the importance or repentence and baptism.
If you would like to talk about this more please IM me or EMAIL me.

Joe, it is written that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. It is also written that no one can come to Jesus or confess Him as Lord unless they are led by the spirit of God. If you have come to Jesus, then you were led by the Holy Spirit who now abides with you. You are now and forever blessed to be a blessing!!!!!

John 3:16 NASB "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Acts 16:31 NASB They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved,
To be saved one must believe in Jesus Christ. To believe means to put your trust in Jesus alone. You need to trust that what Jesus did on the cross was enough. Nothing you do or say can save you.
When you die and go to heaven what will your answer be as to why you should be admitted?
I believe that Jesus died to pay the price for my sins. I trust Jesus Christ as my Savior.
When you trust Christ as your Savior you are cleansed. God the Father sees you through His Son who is perfect and in Him there is no unrightiousness.
Luke 7:50 NASB And He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."
Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; (9) not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We only need to trust Him as our Savior and it doesn't matter what words we say.
An example is the thief on the cross beside Jesus. All he said was remember me when you get to your kingdom.
Luke 23:42-43 NASB And he was saying, "Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!" (43) And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."
It was his faith that saved him, not the exact words he said.

i in my opinion don't be attentive to something yet generalities with reference to the Bible, yet i became into raised in a "Christian" kin. I even have not heard of a Biblical verse condoning deception (for loss of a extra appropriate notice) to guard your loved ones or strengthen your reason. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, my Christian kinfolk (Southern Baptist, Pentecostal, Nazarene, and so on....) have all used deception in this variety of way. i think of it comes right down to the "Jesus died for our sins" bit. So Christians can lie if mandatory simply by fact Jesus has their lower back. I even have an insanely self-righteous uncle who's a deacon and he lied on his resume to get a job. He have been given the interest...and an particularly gentle retirement simply by fact of that interest. additionally, in basic terms slightly yank historic past: The Mayflower became into all Puritans....i won't be able to undergo in innovations whilst, however the Separatists got here with reference to the comparable time. All have been Protestant, and extraordinarily a lot all others have been predicted to assimilate to those ideals or variety comparable ones simply by fact the Pilgrims have been the colonizing majority in New England. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it relatively is superb to be sure Norway relatively teaches approximately its historic past. In u.s., we get a glorified Thanksgiving and little else till we bypass searching for it.
