Weather is a "natural" function of the planet, but according to Christians, the earth was designed and created by God. So are we to believe that god created the planet with the weather in mind, but has no control of the weather? Either god designed and controls the universe, or he doesn't, but it can't be both ways! Christians are more than willing to say that HUMANS were designed, because it suits their arguments. They say we aren't some random act of nature (like EVOLUTION!!!), but weather is, even though both things are the creations of god.

Apparently, weather was something god created, but he no longer really cares about it, so now nature controls it. And god isn't nature.........?

Wow you sound really angry with God!

Yes God is in control of everything! Does he want us to suffer...NO! I live in Florida and was here when hurricane Wilma did so much damage. I have friends that lost their homes. I saw people realize that their possessions are not important in the big picture! Only God and family and friends matter! I saw people pull together to fix a roof and praise God because they see what is really important now. I know of a family that lost their son, it was sad but they took comfort in him being with God! No, I do not think that the churches should be responsible for paying for the acts of God...but most of the time when families suffer churches step in to help. Who do you think started the Salvation Army and the Red Cross? Christians! They not only serve families that are afflicted by acts of God but also fires and domestic violence!

P.S. I will pray for your heart to be healed of the anger that you seem to feel.

some are led to via God. some are the devil attempting to break. some are put in action via God to maintain the earth in stability. a thank you to be sure: If a community is being judged simply by fact of unrepentance and has been warned, then it relatively is judgement. If a community is under those issues simply by fact of an attack of devil to break, then it relatively is stopped with prayer. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, we would desire to undergo in innovations God set an ordered international and those issues, incredibly hurricanes help the earth safeguard stability. Earthquakes are from tectonic plates rubbing. Volcanoes help the earth vent rigidity. So, it relies upon on the reason.

The Bible proclaims that Jesus Christ holds all of nature together (Colossians 1:16-17). Could God prevent natural disasters? Absolutely! Does God sometimes influence the weather? Yes, see Deuteronomy 11:17 and James 5:17. Does God sometimes cause natural disasters as a judgment against sin? Yes, see Numbers 16:30-34. The book of Revelation describes many events which could definitely be described as natural disasters (Revelation chapters 6, 8, and 16). Is every natural disaster a punishment from God? Absolutely not.

God created the world, the global weather system in a way that produces tornadoes and hurricanes.

Does God decide where and when and how they will occur? No.

Many will ask, Why did God create the world with such chaos. I am not sure. All I know that the world is clearly created with CHOAS and ORDER. I believe God desires us to handle as much of that CHAOS as we can. He never promised life would be easy. He just promised that he would be there.

May God bless the families effected by the recent tornados. May God bless all those effected by such natural disasters. May we as Christians do all we can to provide aide to those in need.

Maybe he was just taking some of them up to heaven and he wanted to refine the rest like fine Gold. God disciplines those that he loves. Did you see the devastation and how many were actually killed. More killed on the roads every day around here. Anyway god gives as he wills, I've felt pain and I've seen tough times. You learn to appreciate what he gives.

Hi,

That is why a good travel agent will tell you to get travel insurance that way you will be covered.

Insurance companies call them an act of God. That is where the original thought came from. God never moves off love. He is love. His will is on earth peace, goodwill toward men.

well as muslims we believe that nothing can happen with out the will of god. i do not know about people going to churches demanding them to pay for their welfare because not everyone who is affected by these natural disasters are christians. it would be nice for people who run churches to use money to build more homeless shelters but this goes towards all faiths.

That is like saying people should be able to sue the weatherman on TV for unexpected bad weather. I don't think anybody will be suing God.
