Go to the root of the problem. Detoxify the liver, do not eat too much sweets. Balance your hormones by taking zinc and Vit. B6. Exfoliate your skin with salicylic acid and AHA (just small percent but done regularly) ,but do not irritate it. Give your acne medications a chance. It takes up to 8 weeks to see visible results. You might need a combination of benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotic (Benzaclyn) to totally control acne. you might also need oral antibiotics therapy like minocycline or oral contraceptives to control hormonal imbalance. Go check with your dermatologist first because not everyone can take this medications especially if you have liver or heart problems. Accutane seem to be the best but because it is expensive and has dangerous side effects, I wouldn't recommend it. Lastly, rage war against your acne to commit yourself into defeating it.

You sound like me, I have had acne for more than half of my life now- and I have now tried every over the counter remedy including Proactiv, nothing works. Go see a dermatologist, I have decided that's what I have to do. I've been putting it off because my insurance company's nearest ppo (preferred provider) is a 45 min. drive and my car sucks. But I have been thinking with the $ I spend on OTC crap, I need to go to the doctor and stop wasting my time and getting my hopes up over some miracle cure. I think that the people who say Proactiv works must not have a very bad acne problem, because everyone I know that's tried it knows that it doesn't work.

For Serious Acne....go to the doctor called a Dermatologist.
The doctor will give you oral medication and treatments.

Serious Acne calls for a Serious Dr. appt.
Tell your mom or Dad that you need to see the doctor for your skin. It's normal to go to the doctor for this problem.

Don't pick or pinch.

They perscribe you stuff to put on your acne and it will go away!

proactive is also good i've heard.

Go to the doctor

I've had stubborn acne for about seven years. I used every single product in the local Duane Reade/Rite Aid and nothing ever worked. I became so desperate that I decided to spend the money on Proactiv. My skin cleared up in about two weeks and now it is as healthy as any other person. I wish I had tried it earlier!

A tonic of apple cider and water. 2 tbls. of acv in an 8 oz. glass of water. ACV will clean you internally. So you can eat all the greasy stuff and not have to worry. Read about acv on the web. In the meantime, soak cotton balls in alcohol and gently clean your skin.

I wish i knew..but if you keep touching your face or using the phone that can increase the amount of acne. Try using purpose soap in the facial aisle in your local grocery store its good i like it. I don't like using all that crap that's out there i don't believe in it..and for me salicylic acid makes me break out even more. IF you go to your dermatologist differin gel works too!
