yeah dogs can chew on and eat pig bones to help them have sharpe teeth and healthy breath but for puppies no , its not safe for them to chew on cause they can choked up with sharp pices in their throats and can harm them so you can just try to smarsh some pig bones into little pieces and gave to the puppies to eat . if you want to get something for youre puupies there is some milk bones that you can buy at the store that use for small dogs too.

You shouldn't give any real bones to dogs. Cooked bones especially should not be given to dogs as dogs can easily chew through these and cause shards of bone to become lodged in their intestines. Although people believe raw bones are a safe alternative, this is not always so as dogs with powerful jaws can also break these down into shards which get lodged in their intestines. A better alternative are "pigs ears" which are fake beef hide chews sold at pet stores which keep dogs occupied and are good for their teeth.

Be sure to be careful with the long lasting treats you are giving to your puppy. Their digestive systems van be very very sensitive, so lots of things similar to pig ears and filled bones are not advised. Try some very plain, healthy raw hides that you can tell are sturdy. I use the larger bones with the knot ends. They give somewhat of a challenge. Also, depending on what breed your puppy is and whether or not he has any of his adult teeth yet, you could try nylabone puppy products. They are designed for the strenght of puppy teeth ONLY. If your puppy is a strong chewer I would not suggest the original "puppy bone." My american eskimo tore it to bits within a day and given that most nylabone chews are not edible, this can pose a problem. The "puppy keys" and "puppy stix" though are good because of their odd shapes. If you do choose nylabone puppy products make sure to supervise your puppy at all times and inspect his or her chew after each use. I would only suggest edible products or puppy kongs for unsupervised time. Kongs are wonderful for badly teething puppies. They are extremely sturdy and soothe gums. Take note though that kong insert treats are only for puppies of a certain age. If he is too young try filling your puppy kong with some moist puppy food and sticking it in the freezer over night. This is an excellent tactic for when you need to leave your puppy alone. Good luck :)

It is completely natural and healthy for dogs to eat the bones of animals. In the wild, they do it all the time. Inside bones is the marrow, a nutrient-rich substance that dogs love.

The only danger to dogs from eating bones is eating chicken or turkey bones, as bird bones are hollow and can splinter and puncture the digestive tract.

Young puppies and kittens should not have bones that splinter. I had a kitten choke on a chicken bone and die. Bones can cause intestinal problems and lead to foul smelling stool. Get a big bone that they can gnaw on a bit or some rawhide.

No i wouldn't let them. Some very bad things could happen. 1, pork is bad for dogs so any left over on the bone could hurt their kidneys.
2, If they get a splinter from a bone it could get caught in their mouth or choke them. And dont give them pig ears either. they rip the esophagus tissue and hurt there stomachs.

I would never recommend giving a dog or puppy any type of animal bone. They splinter. My friend lost his beloved German Shepherd from a bone that splintered and ruptured his stomach. So very sad, because the dog really suffered.

Raw bones are safe but best to avoid the pork. As far as pigs ears and rawhides, since many are taken from sick animals and they are bacteria laden, some of them preserved with ingredients like formaldehyde, and since animals often chew off and swallow big chunks of this gluey stuff, many animals can and do get sick from them.
Cooked bones are harder and splinter. I had a German Shepherd dog that broke a large canine tooth of hers on one of them. She also got sick from the rawhides and cooked bones from pet stores so I quit giving them to any of my dogs.
here's a site with some info about bones that are good for dogs:
