Take her to the vet - she could have other puppies inside her that have passed away!!! This is something you should have researched, as it is common for chihuahua's to have difficulties during birth and needing c-section - get your dog to the vet ASAP! (Actually, sooner than ASAP.. even if it is int he middle of the night, you need to get there NOW!

Your dog could have a combination of mastitis--infection of the mammary glands and pyometra--basically a pup (or puppies) stuck in utero. She is really sick, in either case and needs to see a vet immediately. Mastitis not easy to treat, nor is it cheap. It requires hospitalization and constant fluids and antibiotics through an IV. it's not something that will be able to be treated at home. It is VERY serious. If left untreated, it can kill her.
Pyometra is equally as serious, as it can lead to death if not treated IMMEDIATELY. This needs to be seen by a vet because the ONLY treatment for this is surgery. It's considered an emergency spay because the vet would remove the infected uterus, which is a sex organ and is removed in typical spay procedures.
Your poor little girl needed to see a vet AS SOON AS she started laboring. Little dogs often have many more problems than larger dogs when it comes to whelping puppies.
To prevent her from getting even sicker, or even dying, get her to the closest ER vet and started on a treatment. Be wary, she might be too sick right now and at that point, the best option would be euthanasia.

My mom was raised on a farm with cows and pigs and horses she called what you are talking about (mast-titus). Anyways it's like an infection of the mammory. On the cows and pigs she would have to drain the milk to keep it from getting infected. See the milk isn't getting nursed by the pup's she was suppose to have so there is no way for this to drain naturally. I am not sure about the bleeding...I know that on cows the udders get really hard. I hope this helps.

You should have had her checked out by the Vet after she gave birth to make sure she was O.K. This is my point about inexperienced people allowing their dogs to reproduce. Get her to the Vet right now. She could die from this. She is going to be sick for a long time. It is going to cost you a fortune and possibly her life because you got involved in something you knew absolutely nothing about.

GET HER SPAYED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.......

You need to get her to a vet immediately, without a doubt. SHe has an infection of her mammary glands that needs to be treated with medication. She will also need some pain meds, because mastitis is very painful for dogs. I've had rescues with the same problem.

Yeah i agree, is definitely something about not getting drained and they are inflamed because of that, the blood may be and infection, you see even to human moms this could happen. I usually dont like to send people to the vet whatever reason you have to not take her is valid, but this is actually serious and the color change is definetely not a good sign this is an emergency. Good luck

I suggest you take your dog to the vet. If her medical problem seems serious and it certainly does take her to the vet immediately. It could be something harmful to her health.

KNOCK KNOCK-- IS ANYONE HOME??? Take her to the vet. That's just one more reason breeding should be left to those of us who know about it.
