In the Bible days it was called a "vow".

"Kait" is also right, a covenant is an agreement. But it is usually God taking the first action. "I will protect you if you continue to keep my commandments.

a "vow" is you proposing a deal to God. (I understand there is a verse in the Bible saying not to make vows. But, I am not sure.

It is a vow but the Bible says not to make vows unto the Lord because it is like an oath and if you don't keep it you have sinned
