Just wrap the pieces around the curling iron and hold it in there for about 30 seconds...you'll have spiral curls.

wash your hair, make sure that it is dryed completly. While you are drying your hair plug up the curling iron and let it heat up, then take a little hair and hold it in the curling iron for 30 seconds then release it. Keep doing this until all your hair is done. Then style in the way that you want to. That's all to using a curling iron, once you use it you will like it. Oh be sure and don't burn yourself, because they can get real hot.

Curly all over? I would suggest hot rollers.

A curling iron takes practice. One big mistake is curling your hair the wrong way and getting that unmistakable dent in your hair. Try not to do that. Curl back for the feathery waves, curl forward for your hair to be towards your face, curl back and slide the iron out of your hair leaves a banana curl.

Good Luck!

her is how u use one How To How to Use a Curling Iron

While a curling iron can be one of your favorite ways to create your style, it is very easy to damage your hair. Here are instructions on how to safely use your curling iron and what to watch out for.
Difficulty: Easy

Time Required: n/a

Here's How:
1. I would highly recommend that you practice using the curling iron while it is cold. Handling is going to be awkward until you get a "feel" for the tool.

2. Use a thermal product to protect your hair from burning. Revlon Lisse Smoothing Balm will offer protection from the intense heat of the iron, but there are lots of thermal protecting products on the market.

3. Comb hair carefully so that there are no tangles. Hair should be as smooth as possible for the best results.

4. For short hair, you are obviously going to try to get as close to the scalp as possible. Be very careful that you don't touch the scalp with the iron. Lots of stylists position a comb between the scalp and the iron just to be safe.

5. For longer hair, using a curling iron is far easier. Practice however, is still important.

6. It is really important to curl small amounts of hair at a time. One of the biggest mistakes is trying to wrap too much hair around the barrel of the curling iron. This will result in the need to re-curl the section several times to get the amount of curl you want. This can lead to a lot of damage. With small amounts of hair, it should take about 5 seconds to curl the section.

7. Remove the curling iron from the curl and allow to cool without touching. This will allow the curl to set. Move on to the next section of hair.

8. Be aware of the ends of the hair. They need to be firmly held in place before closing the iron. What is referred to as fish hooks are the result if the ends are not secured.

9. When the curls have cooled, loosen with your fingers and spray with your favorite styling spray.

Tips:
Look for a curling iron with multiple settings. This will allow you to choose the heat level.
Using for too long or too often can dry out and sometimes burn your hair. Pay special attention to your useage and potential split ends. Trimming your hair on a regular basis will ensure that the damage does not travel up the hair shaft.
Curling irons come in a range of sizes. The narrower the barrel, the tighter the curl.

Take like 1" strands at a time, pull your hair through the middle between the tongs. take it all the way to the end, clamp down on your hair and curl it up to your head. Leave it for about 10 seconds and let go. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE END of the curling iron where the plastic piece is. NEVER touch the medal. and watch out for your neck, ears etc. It hurts like heck when you burn yourself.

plug it in. Let it heat up. And then open it (with the handle their is a lever) Put your hair in the middle and let the iron shut. Then turn it towards your head (Don't burn yourself, they are hot hot hot). Some tips are: put gel in first so the curl stays in longer... and put a comb against your skin so you don't accidently hit the iron on your skin

get him to pay for you to get a shampoo and roller set at a salon

and no you will not end up looking like an old lady look at all the models and celebs who roller set their hair Ie Beyonce christina Aquilera etc

even better buy some rollers and set your hair and give him a fright. abd tell him that if he wants to see your hair curly he will need to get used to seeing you wearing rollers in your hair

I would not using a curling tong as it can cause heat damage to your hair
