I have a daughter in 4th grade and a kindergartener and I have been told I am the coolest mom ever. So I would say yes. I don't let my kids do what ever they want I am not their "friend" but we have sleepovers at my house, I play basketball with them, and play video games. Dance silly around the house to raido disney. Things like that. My kids are very respectful and well behaved.

I raised my children and punished them when they broke the rules. Cool is not a word I would use or ever thought my kids would use. My 2 older boys, when they were in high school, started telling their friends that I was a cool mom. I would play catch with them, I would listen to their music and dance with them, the way I danced as a teen, and they told their friends I was cool. That shocked me. My younger son, who is really into rap, even said that I could "bust a move". WOW. What a compliment! I am not a self proclaimed cool mom, I'm a mom who thought it was important to play with my kids and know what they were doing and what music they listened to. They called me cool.

Right now I would consider myself to be a cool mom at the moment because my son is only 7 and I try to do as much kid things there is to do until he gets older and then I probably wont be cool nomore but thats ok cause once your child is a certain age it is time to buckle down on him and make sure he chooses the right paths....

I would say my dads still the coolest. He is a friend of mine (someone i can always count on to talk to) & when was younger he was pretty good on where to draw the line & stuff. Never really got along with my mom. So i would say my dads the coolest.

I always thought so since I had my daughter at a young age, but I embarrass her sometimes. If a parent is going to be cool then they must be lax about certain things, and I am too protective.

It's too early to tell. My daughters are only 3 and 9 months. I think that I am average, but I am not here to be their friend or for them to think I am cool.

I wanna build a strong relationship with my kids. I wanna be their friend who will always be there for them when they need to talk abt things, as well as a parent who is firm and understanding. I believe in being both to my kids. That's my parenting style :) and parentig style differs from person to person :)

Being a cool parent isn't what being a parent is about. You are not supposed to be your kid's friend. Too many "Cool" parents end up having kids that are disrespectful because they are not disciplined.
