If the parents and couple is in agreement, no. From what I have seen, parents judge better for long term value. Their head is not turned by superficial things. But if either one of the young are against it, it should be dropped at once.

Of course we should abolish that "tradition" just like most of the world has abolished slavery, genital mutilation, and totalitarian dictatorships. Well okay, so some parts of the world are still a little behind on those subjects. It would be nice if they decided to join the 21st century one of these days though.
