Other answers have given you the EIC for one wage earner.
You say household income. Is there more than one wage earner in the house? If so, figure the EIC for each wage earner in the house for whom the child is a qualifying child, and have that person take the EIC.
The child would have to be closely related to the taxpayer and live with the child more than six months to qualify for EIC.

I would have to disagree with both Kat and Judy, there are other factors involved here. I would go to H&R Block or somebody else and you'll know how much your getting back. You'll definatly get a refund though.
