NOTHING works better than plain ole baby oil. You can use lavender scented, but try this: shower in warm water. Scrub with buff puff. Don't dry off-just barely pat if dripping. Slather on baby oil-lots of it! You will be shocked at such a cheapie idea working as well as the high price stuff!

I have very dry skin as well. I use a face wash that has beads in it to try and rid some of the dry skin. But what I use is a moisturizer after I wash my face.
I use it twice a day to help my dry skin. And maybe going to a dermatologist can help with your skin... maybe even Proactiv, they may have something for dry skin that would work as well

First off never ever wash your face with soap. it will cause your skin to dry out fast. Get a face wash, like oil of olay and get one for dry skin. Also use a day or night time moisturizer on your face twice a day. Avoid any products that contain alchol .

Make sure that everything touching your face (makeup, lotion, cleaner, soap, etc.) Does not elaborately state 'oil-free' as that is a sure sign that it's not intended to moisturize but rather aleviate oil. You said that it was also dry behind your ears so that leads me to believe that your skin is dry overall and not just facially right? You really need to make sure that everything is moisturizing. I would probably avoid powder type foundation. You need to wash and moisturize at least every morning and night, probably a heavier 'night-time' moisturizer. Make sure you drink enough water. What about your scalp and such? Generally with skin that dry, it's often a deeper issue. You should really consult a dermatologist.

Have you heard of Cetaphil? Its a very gentil skin cleanser that won't dry out your skin more. My doctor reccommended it. Its so gentil is can be used on babies, its not super expensive, around $10 for a large container. Also there is a Cetaphil moisturizer. Its SPF 15 and oil free. Try cetaphil it should work out!

you opt on to stay with better organic depending products. i'm particular the products you're utilising have alcohol in it which dries epidermis. also, you opt on to apply a moisturizer alongside with a face wash. this provides some solid concepts about epidermis care and a thanks to preserve your epidermis--it isn't in any respect too early to commence taking ideal care of your epidermis and be particular to apply sunscreen (even in the course of the wintry climate!) solid success.
