Would it force you to re-evaluate your beliefs? More than likely they will have very different beliefs that we would. What if they don't believe in god or find those beliefs offensive. How would we prove to them that god exists. Show them the bible? They may not have books in their culture, perhaps something else. You would have to accept that there is some life in the universe that doesn't believe or need god. Who is to say that we are right and they are wrong?

think about it, we have only been "looking" for the last 40 years or so. There are billions of billions of billions of stars out there. Our technology is new.

it would be very sad thought if earth was the only planet with, some measure, of intelligent life.

We have been looking for patterns in received signals from the universe for some decades now. Don't you think we would have chanced upon them by now, or atleast one transmission that could be classified as a clear pattern ? Get used to it, earth stands alone.
BTW we already have comic book turned religions like scientology that say that humans are genetic material from aliens spread out at the base of a volcano, New Age nuts who think aliens brought humans to earth or aliens are gods who created us, and this might be part of the deception that is being encouraged by the confused illogical self-proclaimed "scholars" today. Of course this is out of your scope. I'm sure you don't understand what is being implied here when I talk of deception.

In all likelihood should aliens make contact in this day and age...you would have some people who would worship the aliens as Gods. (Whether or not the aliens themselves claim to be.)

To answer your question, yes I think it would force people to re-examine their beliefs. An extraterrestrial if they have any religion, the religion would be so far removed form any thing "religious" we know today.

No we are no longer. in truth, from heaven the link to God has come down, via the Eons. this is a planet in which the "end conflict" is going to be fought, for us and for "them", who're comming lower back to were they were kicked out of. virtually no non secular team hyperlinks those entities to guy. Our Lord Jesus Christ develop into very precise even as He pronounced "Iwonder how the religion of guy will be when I go back". have you ever puzzled the position did Cain get his spouse? Who ever created or man made each and each and every of the "existence" geared to kill guy? Jesus pronounced "he develop right into a slayer of guy from the biguining" speaking about devil, the daddy of the lie. you imagine he's on my own? Powerless? weak? not one of the above.

Depends on their view of things. If THEY believe in a SUPREME being then they justifiy religion.

If THEY claim to have MADE us, then they are GOD and justify a supreme being (hey, can WE travel to stars!).

If THEY can't SHOW how the UNIVERSE was created ACCIDENTALY, then they are no smarter than Atheists.

It doesn't have to do with religion. I think it's curiosity and it's a natural part of being a human as an individual. Everything should not be reflected in religion.

It wouldn't change my beliefs. I would wait to see how the Church said to act.

maybe some day "aliens" (demon spirits) may claim that they created the human race instead of God and claim that the Bible is nothing special. (part of the end time delusion?)
