Considering that technology assists people's lives and makes them better, why should anybody concerned with living in eternity after death use it? The reason being is that eternity is infinitely more then any number of years we live, if anything they should be killed immediately after baptism or similar religious experiences that make them 'pure' so they don't have a chance to mess up.

I don't mean to be hostile, I really don't, but this question bothers me. It's like having your cake and eating it too. They get the benefits of knowing they'll live cushy lives in heaven and the cushy lives here on earth with light and heat and proper food. It's being wasted on them.

Tell me why someone who lives for an afterlife should get the benefits here in this one.

Asking me to change my faith is the same as me trying to ask you to change yours.

And to be Christian is to have given your life up to God and Jesus; either you're living for him and the afterlife or you aren't paying attention to your Bibles.

Technology should be for the benefit of all, even religious. if we start denying it to them, they will just scream louder about discrimination and act like martyrs. As long as they don't try and stop our technology, it should include the people who don't believe in it. That is what freedom is all about.

If the advances of technology were enough to make this a heaven on earth I might have a better understanding of your point. Just as money can't make you happy, neither can technology.

Each of us comes in with a birth certificate and an expiration date. I know I have lived before and I will again. It is all experiencing for ourselves and for God.

I wish all it would take is some technology to make this heaven on earth. Maybe we could make a few less round trips.

a cushy life here isn't guaranteed. in fact, a lot of Christians face physical persecution, like torture. Don't be so quick to judge.

and really, why must people be so stereotypical? I don't live to go to Heaven. I'm more concerned about life now, cuz my eternity's already secured, so why worry? I'd rather spend my time living God's way (love God, love others, golden rule), developing a better relationship with Him, helping people who I can help and living life: whether it be good, or whether it be bad.

Well honestly,it's not very fair to claim all the theists are the same.I believe in God but if you don't I'm not gonna judge you for that.Just because someone believes in God doesn't make someone who is willing to live just for his afterlife.Usage of technology can be used for benefit of ourselves and we can use to benefit others so why can't theist take advantage of it too?I believe many of us can do many wonderful things in this life and make a difference rather than just thinking of our own benefits for afterlife.Just like atheists many of theists have different purposes in life.
Take a look at this if you believe that theists aren't improving in betterment of the benefits for us in this life.

All good things are given by the Father of Lights for His children to enjoy. That's the great thing about God - you get the best of both worlds.

People who believe in God were responsible for MUCH of the technology you speak of. For example, without Louis Pasteur (a devout Catholic who regularly prayed the Rosary) you would be drinking rotten milk!

That's one that as a Christian, I can't answer. Why should we care? Christians would make great slaves too. We shouldn't have any care about joining the military, shouldn't have any fear whatsoever of dying, we're expendable and we should be happy about it. When Christian brethren die, a funeral should be a lot of fun.

So there you go, I don't know why I have such an interest in things I shouldn't care one iota about. I just do.

Because believers in God make a lot of advances.

Like EINSTEIN. He OFFICIALLY SAID for the record he was NOT and ATHEIST and he beleived in God and felt religion had a place, even in science.

Big BANG came from a CAtholic Priest

The FATHER of GENETICS was a Catholic Abbott.

Guess what. 66% of scientists believe in God. 76% of doctors believe.

What is more most Americans believe in God.

Tell me why should believers be denied the use of technology, when they are at the forefront in advancing it? This is the way it has been throughtout all of history.

Not all Christians live cushy lives! I think that most of them dont. and you could have your cake and eat it to if you turned your life over to JESUS and accepted him as your savior, you could have eternal life.
