as a christian, I feel terrible for all this happening. I get really sad when I think about it-but in a way it is justified. Jesus Christ died a terrible death on the cross-for us. he was a perfect man-and Passion of the Christ (movie) gives a pretty good impression on what really happened and how he was tortured. Think about it-hanging on the cross? How would you like it, if you died for everyone's sins, and billions of people said" pff who cares?" or " I bet that's not true." Hypothetical situation. Your friends get caught w/illegal drugs. You love your friends-coz they're ur best friends, and you're sad that they did something wrong. But, you love them a lot, and you say the drugs are yours. The police arrest you and stick you in jail. After going through a lot there, you finally get out, and tell your friends what you did for them. One doesn't believe that you did, and another doesn't care. Wouldn't that make you mad? It would make me super mad. So, Jesus loves us, and died for us. slooooowly and paiiiinfully, These people on yahoo answers who make fun of him, deny that he exists, deny that he died for them, they make him sad/angry. They have a chance to believe what he did for them, but they choose not to. Therefore, they must pay the price. and I think it is terrible. As a christian, I think it is the most horrible thing that could happen to a person. eternity is a very long time. And I do not think I am the select special group who doesn't have to Everyone has a chance. Everyone can believe. They choose not to. And that's their fault. They can accept it, or they can't. The bible can not be proven false. the old testament, historically proven to be written years before the new testament, prophesies many things specifically that will happen in the new testament, which has become true. And if athiests don't believe in any god-how did we get here on this earth? Even the newtestament ( the book of revalation specifically) prophesies things that will happen years later, and looking further into time from then, have proven themselves to be true. I truly feel sorry for the people who do go to hell, and I am churning inside because I have a cousin I love very much who is not a christian. I really really don't want that to happen. And even I ask myself-why so harsh a punishment? Hell? Eternity? Ouch! Shouldnt they be given a second chance? Why this terribleness? Why is it so harsh? I don't know. All I can be grateful for is that I love the Lord Jesus, and I believe that he died for my sins, and all I can do is pray for the people who do not believe. I constantly pray for my cousin, and all my friends who aren't christians, and all the people out there who don't believe, because I believe that everyone deserves a chance. Who knows? The lord can change peoples hearts like that. Maybe my cousin will recieve him. Maybe some of these jesus haters on here will even have a turn of heart. But back to your question, I am not sticking my nose up in the air, and laughing at all the people who are going to go to hell. I am not proud and puffed up because I am 'one of them'. Instead, I pray for people who are not. I know people on here will give me 'thumbs down', thinking I'm a sap, but you asked for my opinion, and I gave it.
Edit::: I see lots of people on here mentioning heaven. FYI people, you don't go to heaven when you die. You go to Paradise. No it is not the same thing. No one goes to heaven. The only person who went to heaven was Jesus. When he died though, he went to Paradise. He was in the realm of death (paradise) for 3 days. Then he came back on the earth and ascended to the Father.

Case in point, just look at most of the people that answered your question, and completely refuse to believe in heaven, hell, or God.
The answer to your question is yes. In reality, yes.
With so many people spitting in God's face nowadays, and taking his Son's name in vain, there will probably be more than 4.5 billion people that go to hell. Not because they sin too much, but mostly because they simply deny God's existence, and that attitude problem keeps them blind to the truth.
How do I feel about it? Sick. Do I think God is cruel? Absolutely not!
EVERYBODY HAS A CHOICE! If you go to hell, the only person you can blame is yourself....plus all the false preachers out there that don't speak the truth. The pure truth is only in the first Bible. King James.
God's first purpose for mankind was love and peace.
Mankind changed that, God did not.

Good example of a false alternative. In fact, there are many separate hells and heavens, each pair for each religion (sect and denomination).
So, if Christians say you go to Hell, this would simply mean that you can still enjoy your own heavenly life, and have all possible rights to condemn Them (Christians) to Hell. Most likely, you'll never meet each other in afterlife, so neither of you could prove who was right, and who was wrong. Since these heaven/hells exist in sort of parallel universes, and not interconnected.
Just enjoy your life, and don't worry!

The Bible says in John 3 : 16 "For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life".
Romans 6 : 23 "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord".
To answer your question of how do I feel about all these people going to hell ....... my heart goes out to each and every person who have not accept Christ into their lives. I pray that somehow God is going to intervene so that they may realise that there is a God vacuum shape in their hearts that no one can fill except Christ alone.

The Bible says the road to destruction is the wide path and many will follow it. But the road to eternal life is narrow, and few there is that find it.
The short of it is; consider Sin like a terminal disease. Jesus is the cure.., but you cant force people to take the cure for this terminal disease.
Oddly in our every day lives there are people who will refuse medical treatments for diseases and would rather find some other means from homeopathy to chicken gut treatments from a Voodoo priestess or something rather than accept the one that will most likely help them.
In the case of eternal life - people would rather trust in their own ideas or other peoples ideas, even to the point of self injury rather than to accept eternal life through Jesus Christ.
If the cure was withheld from the infected person - THAT would be totally unfair. But the cure is there and free for the taking. If you refuse the cure from Sin and willing to risk the death it brings, rather than accept Jesus - you must be willing to live and die by your decision and not blame the one who offered you the cure.
Imagine refusing life saving medicine, then cursing the doctor as you lay dying, blaming the doctor for not just up and curing you, as if it were somehow his fault you decided to reject his advice.
HOWEVER - based on my studies of the Bible - hell is a holding place till judgment day (a kind of jail waiting court date so to speak), it has seven chambers that range from pleasant to horrible darkness and excructiating heat.
On Judgment day - those who are found in contempt of God and his laws, who rejected Jesus, they will be cast into a lake of fire - not hell. This lake of fire burns forever but consumes who is thrown into it - for all time. In otherwords, they are destroyed never to be seen again - a painful experience, but brief then nothingness.
I have found no basis for eternally burning in hell. But I have found basis for punishment and finally being erased from existence through the lake of fire. The duration of that punishment in hell prior to the lake of fire judgement may be a very long time and time has no meaning there. It would seem like an eternity be it five minutes or someone who has been there for a thousand years.
Our lives after this one exist on a different level, a completely different expeirence and life here can not be compared to there except for what we do in our bodies while here on earth.

Wide is the path to destruction. A great Saint, The Cure of Ars, St. John Vianney said in a vision once he saw people dropping into hell like snowflakes.

But even within Christian churches, people will disagree on who is going to heaven. Some will outright denounce other denominations as being heretics and led by false prophets. Ask a Baptist what he thinks about the salvation claims of Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons or Seventh Day Adventists, or even Catholics. You might be surprised by the answers. And ask those other groups what they think of others, and you will find a lot of people dismissing the salvation of others. Everybody seems to need to believe that they are in the "right" group that is going to heaven -- very exclusive.

That's one per year. The Earth, according to NASA, 4.5 billion years old. I am a self-read Christian. So I didn't freeze time in 325AD when the scrolls were selected and called a "Bible".
I feel after Jesus returned home to Heaven, he and God and Heaven did away with Satan's Physical power and Hell.
In other words, What happened to Hell during the last 2000 years? Surely, God, and Jesus, and Heaven, continued to improve conditions in Heaven, for a place there for all of us new humans from Earth.

We end up where we desire to be, the Christians (the good ones at least) will end up in Heaven, Muslims in Paradise, it seems kind of ridiculous that pretty much everyone would have a one-way ticket to hell. Hell would be awfully crowded.
