Strengths:
MORE POWER (*cue Tim Allen grunt*) for your money.
When you're sat inside one (not that I have), you can't see the front end of it.
Weaknesses:
It's got one of the ugliest front-ends of a car ever created.
As it's American, it almost certainly isn't as nimble through corners as European sports cars such as the Lotus Elise / Lotus Exige / Caterham7 / Vauxhall Monaro (rebadged Aussie Holden with a Chevvy V8 in it) / BMW M3, etc

Strengths
Power of the V8 is good and the V6 has improved over the previous 3.8L turd. the chassis is the best of all mustangs to date. Build quality is superior to previous mustangs. Rear wheel drive configuration is good for fun times. The mustangs history speaks for its self its a classic American icon. Its very well supported in the aftermarket so any additions or alterations are easily accessible
Weaknesses
I would say its weight its quite a heavy car compared to previous generations. Its suspension isn't exactly Ferrari beating. Granted the addition of the panhard bar and torque arm on the GT is a better suspension than the older 4 link suspension.
For my money mustang is it. Ive owned 3. I would buy a 05+ if i could but i cant right now. Its a good fun car period

The mustang was always a favorite of mine.
Reasonably priced, good power, good handling
The cons (at least what I found)
You really need the positrack or it's all over the road when taking off. Not the best in the rain (back end sway) and murder in the winter (poor weight distribution). Not much room in the back seat
It's not a bad car if you're looking for a muscle car with power.
There are non-american cars that will last a lot longer with fewer rrepairs but you wont get a 5.0 liters in them

I don't know what ppl are talking about handling, I own a Mustang and is the best handlin car I've ever had!! Trust me I found out last weekend. As for weight, My sister has a VW Bug and it weighs 3,500 lbs. So some rice burners has the same issue. The pros are its a Mustang an AMERICAN made muscle! The cons are the back seat but who cares!! Its a freakin sports car!! Just remember 1 thing!! THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR CUBIC INCHES!!

Longjevity of a car is based only on the right maintinence. Putting your faith in non american cars doesnt help anyone but our compitition. All of the people that say american cars suck and japanese or german cars never break down, either own a new one or the person who owned it prior, has already rebuilt the whole car. Come on people , keep it in the us!! A toyota assembled in the us, yes creates jobs here, but the profits and sales quotas still go their. As far as the mustang, HELL YES!! Plenty of hop ups, and alot better sound than docter z could even imagine. Im sorry, but I will take american horsepower over anything anyday. Thank you for your support

Depends on what you're looking at. My personal opinion;
1. 300hp GT - great!
2. 240hp V6- ok
3. Lots of room
4. weighs a ton (almost two of them actually)
5. Much stiffer frame
6. much better front suspention than older Mustangs
7. Annoying traction control
8. The chepest looking interior this side of a Power Wheel
9. You sit really high- you feel more like you're in a truck than a car.
10 - Stick shift V8s are rare, so be prepared to pay full retail

I dont own an 06 yet but all other stang weakness were trans, independent rear ends, front lower controlarms p/s pump noises. otherwise with proper maintanence they can be rodded hard and always come back fighting for more.

"winner" is very vague... are you talking sales figures? quarter mile? Mostly the winning car is whichever one you have in your garage at the moment that question is asked. The best combo is to take the engine from the camaro, and the rear-end from the 'stang, and put them into a Mazda Rx-7 chassis..... but again, that's only true in the space between my ears.

Strengths: bold looks, powerful engines that will definitely kick-start anyone's day, reasonable handling and dynamics, easy-to-use dash, does what's expected, affordable for most
Weaknesses: old-school chassis and suspension design, which of coarse affects the dynamics and handling, both of which hate winding roads or curves...Ford US def need to check out da Ford Falcon here in Australia for some ideas;
cheap, flimsy and much too-retro interior, with hard-too-read dials and low quality feel & no real life-saving devices i.e pretension belts, extensive airbags, ESP

strength is that it has adequate power, looks good, and it is rear wheel drive, the weakness is it is light in the rear does not handle great in curves and on slick roads plus the sports car puts it in a different bracket for insurance purposes
