Mountain Gal, don't rush so quickly to assume. A question, ie. "If..blah, blah, blah..." is not a statement. A question does not automatically imply a particular belief. Think about it.

AIDS is not a punishment by God. That is ignorant thinking. No one deserves to be in the situation where they have AIDS. We need to support a cure. If you don't believe me, then why are innocent children born with this terrible disease.

God didn't send AIDS as a punishment. There are many diseases and once a cure is found for one - a new one crops up. This is the cycle of life. The question itself is bias and indicates a very closed mind. I assume you mean because some people are gay and hence God punishes them with AIDS? Hmm, there have been gay people as long as there has been the human race - and AIDS is a relatively new disease in the scheme of things. AIDS is not only sexually transmitted - it is also transmitted through blood and other bodily fluids. The disease is not bound to a particular population or people. To say that God sent AIDS as a punishment would also mean he sent every other disease known to human kind as a punishment. Not likely.

What a horrible thing to say--where did you
get the idea that God sent AIDS (or any
disease) as a punishment. You people have no concept of who God is. A statement like you just made probably came from an overly-zealous preacher that despises all homosexuals. To spread lies like that about God is much worse than almost anything a person can do.

Now i believe that this might all depend on what your definition of "evil" is also just to add a thought to this question " If God sent AIDS as a punishment is it evil to try to find a cure and if a cure were found would it be evil to use it?"

properly, AIDS existed before the Eighties. It purely did not grew to grow to be an outbreak till then. there is data now that it grow to be the reason behind lack of life for some people a lengthy time period for that. besides, if God despatched everybody AIDS as a punishment, it should be for black people on account that there are better black those with the ailment than gay people of any race. exceptionally a lot another man or woman in Africa is contaminated. So i wager Christians ought to educate their homophobia into racism.

God did not send AIDS as punishment. Don't be ridiculous.

Remember: anyone can get it, even children. What have they done to deserve getting AIDS, hmmm? Nothing.

Nature creates diseases and plagues when there is overpopulation to get the numbers down. We find a cure for AIDS, another disease/plague will rise.

Stop reading the radical Christian journal. What's next God sent a tsunami to Thailand to punish non-believers. Pat Roberts own words.
It's part of life. We have diseases, viruses, bacterias, and so forth.
Find a cure and I will guarantee you do not go to hell.

It's 2007 not biblical times.

Fu ck no. I'm sure you think this because homosexuality is "evil" which is what is believed to be the cause of AIDS and is really high in the gay population. Or maybe you think being promiscuous is evil also. If there were no STD's than it wouldn't be so bad. but AIDS is "punishment" because god said not to fu ck your friend and then your neighbor, and then their friend, etc. Hey guess what! Why don't you grow the fu ck up!

Its a pretty big step to claim to know the purposes of God. I think the purpose of life is to exercise our free will. And if we freely choose to relieve the suffering of our fellow man that would surely be concidered to be good work. So, No.

After all good works are the only treasures which can be taken to the next life.

God did not send AIDS as a punishment. Anyone who thinks He did so has a very low opinion of Him.
