YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!!
LMAO!
If you are being serious, I appologize. I think you were mistaken, though. Downs Syndrome is a genetic disorder that you are born with, not something that you can catch.

i cant imagine your aunts story is recent because as far as i know nowadays doctors are very able to tell if an unborn child has downs-syndrome or not. Downs can also come in many grades. Some can do nothing, others can mentally grow to teenager. I'm liberal towards abortion in some cases, but it's not a luxury and neither are children. Furthermore I wouldn't know why a child with Downs would not have the right to live. Most people with Downs are very well capable of living a very happy life (sometimes much happier than any other "normal" person) and without pain. They do need lots of extra care, are not always easy to handle and maybe dribble their whole life, but they can also bring a whole bunch of love and joy.

Your question is extremely offensive. My brother was born with Down's Syndrome. I lived many years enduring stupid comments like yours because of a genetic condition that my innocent brother was born with. For your information, Down's Syndrome is caused by an extra chromosome during the development of an embryo. People born with this are mentally retarded, and they have certain physical characteristics such as stubby hands and feet, short statures, round and puffy eyes, a thick tongue, high palate in the mouth, and some are born with congenital heart defects. There - NOW you are educated.
For your information, my brother died suddenly 2 days before his 46th birthday in December 2005. There was no rhyme or reason to his death, as he was fit as a fiddle until he suddenly caught pneumonia after having the cold, and his death was ruled as heart failure after pneumonia. People born with Down's Syndrome used to never live to adulthood. Now, they live much longer, but you rarely see someone past the age of 50.
My brother was a great guy. He loved and accepted anyone and everyone who accepted him. He didn't judge others by the way they looked, spoke, the color of their skin, what they did for a living, or anything else. He only looked at their heart. He could tell intuitively who was good and who was not. I on the other hand, can see the character of a person that my brother was unable to see. I find your character severely lacking by the offensive question you asked while you took joy in making fun of some of the nicest and most loving people you will ever know. My brother would have found your heart lacking, had he met you, and he would not have given you the time of day. Shame on you!
Addendum:
To the one who gave me the thumbs down, I really don't care. The question was extremely offensive because no doctor would tell a patient they just caught Down's Syndrome. The person who asked this question was obviously making fun of people with this condition.

you cannot catch Downs Syndrome, one is born with it.
Down’s syndrome is a genetic abnormality caused by a defect of chromosome 21. People with Down’s syndrome are mentally retarded and suffer from a wide array of other symptoms, such as premature aging with development of Alzheimer’s disease before the age of 40, short stature and flaccid musculature, frequent infections, autoimmune disease, hypothyroidism, leukemia, and heart defects.1
Down’s syndrome is the most common genetic disorder, occurring at a rate of about one in 700 to 800 births.

HA HA. Down Syndrome (AKA Trisomy 21) is not a contagious disease. BTW you can't catch an STD off a chair at the movie theater especially if your wearing clothes. You should burn them if you sat in a "wet spot"

You cannot "catch" Down's syndrome: it is genetic, not an infectious disease: you are born with it, and will live with it throughout your life. It arises from a replication error in the germ cells; most such errors are lethal, but Down's is not.
