a friend of mine (female), convince me to shave my private hair off. Now, I actually like it, but.... it does itch a little, & I have a rash there now. I had never shaved there before. So, how do I get rid of the rash? Since most or alot of woman do shave south of the border, I thought that I would ask on here first.

Cortaid, Benadryl (cream/dauber)...anything that has cortisone in it should help...(next time use shaving cream or take it off with Nair....) and LOTS of women DON'T get rid of pubic hair, because it itches when it grows back...so get your facts straight...

Well yea it good to shave ....but i don't think it's that good. Maybe waxing is better but it too painful ...when you shave your private hair, it causes infection to get into that place easier because the hair kind of hold back thing that are trying to get into your sink. Cutting your private part hair will cause rash and like little bumps and will also cause a lot of sweating down there because when some people shaved they mistakenly cut themselves and that cause irritation when in hot situation. sometimes it depend on what kind of shaving cream you use maybe the one you used was not a good one. Try finding a cream for rash and ask a pharmacy about what is best.

Oh... and your private part hair will eventually grow back and that will causes you more itching, irritation and more rash.

That happened to me the first time! What it is is razor burn from shaving off the top layer of skin. Also it can cause ingrown hairs. What worked for me was to use the Schick Intuition razor for sensitive skin and the most IMPORTANT part is to buy a product called Bikini Zone. You can find it anywhere that sells shaving products and depilitory creams. It will clear up the rash and if you put it on right after shaving it keeps it from coming up. (Since you already have razor burn apply it regularly like the package says. Then once things get back to normal, you can use it less liberally)

Let it grow back, use moisturizer, then buy an electric trimmer. That was the first time i shaved and had minimal razor bumps. And yes they do hurt. Surprisingly alcohol soothes after shaving or trimming.

Use a lot of moisturizing lotion after you shave. There isn´t really a way to avoid that itch unless you wax, but maybe that´s a little too much to ask...lol
