God is our father in Heaven. Any good parent would not punish a child who does not understand his instructions.

Well, if you are a Christian, no. Will there be consequences? yes.

If you're not a Christian then the answer is Yes. Because if it is God telling you a message, right now it would be that you need to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. That's generally the first message that non Christians get. It's a form of conviction, your soul is visited by the Holy Spirit and you realize that you are sinner apart from Jesus Christ, you are going to Hell for your sins.

The best way to find an answer as to what to do is read the Bible. God rarely instructs without affirmation from the Bible. That would mean that if it's not in the Bible, generally it is not of God. Like God wouldn't tell you to murder someone in cold blood. However, God does give the government the right to execute murderers, rapists, etc without penalty on the person carrying out the sentence.

Just a sidebar, if you're on a jury and you let a criminal walk, his sin is now on you. That's why witnesses are to be truthful and jurors are to be prudent.

Hi! Well, if you are a Christian, then the message of the gospel is that if you have placed your faith in Jesus then you are saved from Hell. It is really as simple as that. Once you know God, you have a relationship with him and you can speak with him. Sometimes we can hear him more clearly than others. Sometimes in the Bible even the most devout followers had to spend days in prayer about things. So, from the Christian point of view, that would be the answer.

Jessica,

How will any human you ask KNOW what GOD will do "to" you? I can not believe that GOD will send you to hell, he gave you your free will, and if you have a choice to make it is yours to freely make. One hopes (I hope) that of the two choices you will go with the one that makes you happy and your family proud.
Also GOD is sending you a message you can not understand. You've prayed and thought and still have no clear idea of this message. You have talked to your religious leader and your parents - and it is still unclear. Wow, well, no one here can help that's for sure.

"Will I go to Hell for misunderstanding What God wanted me to know?" - NO!

"God is not willing that any should perish, but for all to come to repentance." (II Peter 3:9)
"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man, someone might possibly dare to die. But God shows His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through Him!" (Romans 5:6-9)
"Now when a man works to get right with God, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as what is owed. However to the one who does not try to earn salvation, but puts his trust in God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited to him as righteousness - being put right with God." (Romans 4:4,5)
"But what does the Bible say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart; that is, the message of faith we are proclaiming, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses Jesus, resulting in salvation."
(Romans 10:8-10)
"For whoever will call upon the Lord Jesus shall be saved."
(Romans 10:17)
Call upon Him today, and He will forgive you, and give you the gift of the Holy Spirit, so that you can know you are saved.

Look at it like this: If your math teacher tells you: 2+2=4
and you do not understand how to work it out. Would you not be required to study these numbers and their meanings and their relationship to each other, in order to eventually solve this equation? If we are too lazy to study and search for the correct answer, come the day of the test, we will fail miserably.
If we devote time to studying this equation, and others like it, come the day of the test, we will pass with flying colors.
God doesn't always give us the answer, sometimes we need to show God that we are willing to give of our time and sacrifice our belongings in order to discover the answer we seek.
God will not ask you to do something, unless He gives you the tools and the resources to accomplish what He asks of you.
God Bless You....Peace.

The thing that determines whether or not you go to hell is not what you do, but what you believe. If you have accepted Christ into your heart as a believer, then you are saved from hell no matter what. One thing is clear from the Bible, that is, if you seek and pray for wisdom, it will be given to you. Pray for wisdom to understand what it is that God is trying to tell you.

If you do your very best to understand God's Word as found in the Holy Bible, and
If you do your very best to practice God's teachings in your life every day, then you will be safe.
Otherwise, you will not be safe. You must seek diligently to understand.
To understand God's word, you need a helper, a teacher.
This is shown in this passage from the New Testament:
"So Philip ran to him [the Ethiopian], and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, 'Do you understand what you are reading?' And he [the Ethopian] said, 'How can I, unless someone guides me?' And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him." (Acts 8:31)

I do not believe that you will go to hell for not following his calling because if you accept that Jesus came to wash away our sins then you will have eternal life, but if you know that God is calling you to do something, you should try your hardest to do it because the results will be amazing, and it will bring a feeling to your heart that nothing else can.

No-one can tell you if you are going to Hell. If you believe in such things it is between you and your god. I know there are many people who take delight in telling others that they are going to Hell but it is not their business or place to do so.
