i personally dont get too bothered with second hand smoke untill my son is with me then it bothers me. he has allergies from smoke and it makes him cough and get congested. It does very much upset me when people dont care about the effects of others. it's selfish. but if you go to a bar that's expected and if you dont like it stay home or go somewhere else. If you are at a resturant make sure it's has vents and sit on the no smoking sections! dealing with smoke is not that hard. What bothers me even more is that the government or certain states rule out smoking all together which is another reason why this so called free country is not!

I am. There is a country store near my house and they let people smoke there, even though my city has a smoking ban. It bothers me a little, but not too much, since there are only a few people smoking in there at a time. Some of my friends smoke and the smoke bothers me, but I try and stand upwind! One night I went to a club with friends, where people were smoking, despite the ban! The smoke almost made me sick!! For a day or two later my throat hurt, and I got a bad cough that turned into bronchitis!

Unfortunately, it's worst for you (getting the 2nd hand smoke) than it is for the actual self-centered smoker smoking away carelessly to their money burning addiction... They have a filter via their end, you don't. Also their respiratory system is already accumulating and cogged up with protective biochemical black tar! It damages the mouth by rotting and blackening teeth, damaging gums and blocking papillae and taste buds and the eye's vision. The smoker over time, won't even be able to smell the smoke stench they are creating which stays in their clothes/hair/room/etc - or their bad breath. Tar when in the lungs coats the cilia causing them to stop working and eventually die, causing such conditions as lung cancer as the toxic particles in tobacco smoke are no longer trapped by the cilia but enter the alveoli directly. Apart from tar, you get a health dose of: Acetone - also found in finger nail polish remover Ammonia - used in household cleaning compounds Arsenic - commonly used in rat poison. Butane - key ingredient in lighter fluid Cadmium - active component in battery acid Carbon Monoxide - the same gas released from your car's exhaust system DDT/Dieldrin - a poison used in commercial insecticides Ethanol - alcohol Hydrogen Cyanide - yet another lethal poison Methane - gas released from the bowels (now there's a nice thought) Methanol - component of rocket fuel Napthalene - ingredient used in mothballs Nicotine - yet another insecticide, and a highly addictive substance Stearic Acid - found in candle wax Toluene - industrial strength cleaning solvent Fungicides and pesticides -- Cause many types of cancers and birth defects. Cadmium -- Linked to lung and prostate cancer. Benzene -- Linked to leukemia. Therefore it would be more healther to take up smoking weed, less poisons, however 4x the amount of tar and therefore lung problems... why? Because weed smokers don't use a filter either - they reuse the 2nd hand smoke.

Seconhand smoke certainly bothers me. It not only affects my health but I consider it deeply insulting when smokers dump their filthy stinking wastes into my environment. People who think they have a right to smoke around others may as well also piss on others and spit in people's faces. Like farting, smoking around others is disgusting and rude. The world will be cleaner and healthier when the dirty habit of smoking is history.

Nope. Because the only time I around a cigarette smoker is when I'm with my girlfriend and I've always been attracted to women who smoke. So for me her smoking is quite pleasing.

I hate to be smoked on ,I watched my mom& dad die of cancer .they were 45 and 46 years old.I hate it! when I see parents smoking on kids in cars , i think it is child endangerment .we have come to far in the past 30 years to be so stupid as to smoke or allow someone to smoke on us.As my teenagers will say if someone gets too close to them who is smoking "Thanks for contributing to the cancer i'm going to get " .
