If she is touching herself, don't you think she has found out the pleasure? If she hasn't,you don't have to explain that to her now.She will find out when she has a boyfriend.I found out at 14 when I had my first boyfriend. At 9 she is young to be explained such things but if you find it necessary, talk with her about it.

talk with her. tell her that what she's doing is okay, she shouldn't be ashamed, and its private thing.
it best to keep things open- if she feel uncomfortable, just ask if she has questions and keep the talk short and sweet. make an agreement about knocking before entering.
tell her its the same feeling during sex- without the consequences. thus its a good form of abstinence.
- and for those who say she is too young, most children masturabate during their toddler years, some masturbate throughout their childhoods and into adulthood, and many start between age 9-12. masturbation has nothing to do with becoming sexually active. this is why children should be tau masturbation as an alternative to sex.

I have two kids...I think you should tell her that it is okay to touch herself when shes in her bedroom alone, or in the shower. Thats what i tell my son and he is younger than your daughter. Humans are sexual beings, and honestly its natural, though everybody starts at different ages.So dont compare. She is at the age where if you freak, she wont feel comfortable to come to you with things later on when they really matter.

I completely agree with the last person. It is 100% natural. If you get on to her or make her in any way feel ashamed about what she is doing it could scar her later in life. Just make sure she know when and where it is appropriate.

You walked in right? She is doing this in private right?
Make sure she never thinks that her body is bad or dirty. I would also reinforce to her that those are her private parts, that nobody else is allowed to touch and to make sure she tells you if anybody does.

Completely normal!!! If you don't believe me go talk with her pediatrician. Don't tell her it's wrong you will warp her for life about her body. Just explain to her that that is private and to keep it to herself!

People know when it comes on - Adults talking about that part is redundant and kind of repulsive.
It is OK for parents to explain babies and the importance of personal privacy and honesty BUT . . .
It would be really gross to have a parent talking about the pleasure, that is too close to incest . . .
NO one wants to talk to their parents about that part.

I don't know if she's to young to know, maybe she does know. My wondering is if someone has been showing her. It seems like you have a dialogue going. Maybe try to be aware without getting her in her face.My friends' kid had a cousin showing her all about it at that age.

You need to ignore it and definitely do not make a big deal out of it. Don't even mention it to her. Forget you saw anything.
