Hi Teri...cats over the age of 9 can develop age-related disorders such as periodontal disorders, chronic renal failure (CRF), hyperthyroidism, diabetes, etc. all which are life-threatening if not evaluated and treated respectively. Dramatic weight loss is symptomatic of many disorders and truly needs to be treated urgently.

I don't know your cats age or any history but this sounds to me like it could be either an abcessed tooth (which would cause her not to eat, losing weight AND causing a horrible odor)........or possibly something like kidney failure if the cat is older. This cat MUST GO to the vet ASAP......... don't screw around on Yahoo - take your cat to the vet as if it were your child, that's what a responsible pet owner would do.
I wish you the best........ now that you have waited this long you may need to go to an emergency clinic.

It really could be anything and the best thing to do is get her to a vet immediately. The odor, not moving and quick weight loss could be a sign of diabetes. If this is the case, by now she could be very near death so you need to act quickly.

My cat is called "Kitty" - she was a foundling and I fostered her, but she sort of decided to remain with us because nobody wanted to adopt her. We always called her "the kitten", so she automatically became Kitty. She's nearly 15 years old now and still a "kitten" in her ways.

Take kitty to vet could be a number of things happening. dont know how old cat is and is cat strickly indoors? Could it have gotten ahold of something and digested it? Cats are active
and if it suddenly becomes inactive - take to vet please.

Get her to the vet her internal organs could be shutting down, she could have the flu and be severely dehydrated.

Which ever she needs medical attention soon.
Good luck.

Take her to the emergency vet right away - she could be poisoned or a whole number of other things.
