Yes. And I found out after many years that this was a physical symptom of stress.
There's a great cure for it and you've probably heard this a thousand times... relaxation.
Essentially, the body in stress shuts down many sensory inputs because your brain can't take it anymore. So you feel like you're floating, that people aren't really real even though you can see their mouths moving in front of you. It's a scary place to be.
The only way to ground yourself is through relaxation and exercise. It's temporary, but you can train yourself to relax instantly if you have the right tools. Look up stress management on the internet and see what appeals to you most. I personally love hypnosis. If I am paniced or stressed I have some downloads on my ipod and all I have to do is find a quiet place for 15-20 minutes and my senses return to me. I actually have an incredible sense of smell and taste that I didn't know I had before. It takes time to learn these skills but it is life changing and important for physical and mental well being.

Wow, like you think you may really be crazy because nothing makes any sense! I have been there. You get over it after a while, but man it's like everything is against you and you are in some sort of funk! It's the worst when you can't even connect with the people you love, most times it's those people who make you feel like a nut!

I feel that way pretty much all of my waking hours of life. Unfortunately it is a sign of how much my depression has progressed. I hate feeling this way and I have tried to get help but it seems like I have exhausted every avenue...

If you feel that way too I hope that you are able to find a way out of it...I keep trying to believe that there is a light at the end of this very dark tunnel.
