The only thing we know for sure is that in this life we will suffer trials and tribulation. Jesus kingdom is not of this world. Earthly life is not much more then a vapor in the over all scheme of things.

Jesus died for your sins, but He does not guarantee that your life will be free of pain or worry as long as you live among men.
Pain can be caused by several things;
It can be physical - the body just wears out and does not work like it once did.
It can be emotional - People hurt us or let us down.
It can be spiritual - We have not lived our life the way we should.
If it is physical, a doctor can help you to ease your pain, but there is a price. You may not be as sharp as you used to be.
If it is emotional - You need healing. That is best done by talking with the person that causes you the most pain. Tell them how you hurt and see if you can reconcile it.
If reconciliation is not possible, you can ease the pain knowing that you did all you could to heal that relationship.
If it is spiritual - Confess your sins to God, ask His forgiveness, believe that He has heard your prayer, and be content that everything between Him and you is alright.
The scriptures tell us that we need not fear mortal men, but the spiritual powers in high places. Primarily demonic beings trying to influence your life away from God and Christ.

Your first question is correct. Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins. This does not mean we will not suffer in this life; we live in a fallen world. There is pain, suffering, disease, death. Jesus said in this world we will have tribulation. You're right, it is heartbreaking to see so many suffer and die in pain. But those who know Jesus will live forever without any more pain, nor sorrow, none of it. He will wipe away every tear.

Dying in pain is not a sin. Living in sin is a pain. Jesus did die for us. Should we live for him? Yes, that is the least we can do for him. He died so that we may be saved through Grace.

God gave humans the right of free choice so that we would be totally free to love Him, or not to. Because of that free choice, mankind fell and sin entered the world. Sin, death, pain, suffering and such things are now a part of this world. Our free will is so important to God that He allows this as consequence of choices that have been made. It's not even always because of our own choices. Things happen. This world is fallen and a very ugly place sometimes.
Jesus died for our sins, You're right. However, you have to accept that individually. It's only available to those who believe, accept, confess, repent, and give their lives to Him.

Look at it this way: If I am your parachute instructor and you are about to undertake your first solo jump. Before jumping, we review all the steps required, to make a safe landing.
If after you jump, you disregard everything I taught you, and think to yourself, "I will try it My Way"
As you fall, I shout to you "Pull Your Rip Cord!!!"
You think to yourself..." I don't need this silly parachute"
"I can fly without it"
When you finally see the error of your way, will you not die a painful death upon hitting the concrete?
Such it is with God, when we choose to sin, we have to suffer the consequences. God does not wish anyone to suffer pain, however, if He says "Don't do That" and we choose to do it anyway, we have to accept the consequences.
God Bless You....Peace.

We still live in a fallen world.
Jesus indeed died for our sins but we need to accept the free gift of salvation. This does not mean that we will be free from pain it only means that now we are on our way to heaven.

Dying for our sins does not mean that we will die without pain- it means we are forgiven and we will spend eternity with Him. If we do not accept Christ then we will die in our sin, and be eternally separated from God. Physical pain is not taken away with the death of Christ- but the spiritual death is.

Jesus died for REDEMPTION of our sins. Sin is only taken away from those who accept Christ's sacrifice and allow him to be their Lord and Savior.
I'm sorry if this doesn't help, but you have to realize that though God wants to help everybody, not everybody lets him. When we sin, we cut ourselves off from God's blessings, like a breech in God's contract with you. Some things are just the fault of mankind, as people choose to murder, to transmit STDs, to mame, to destroy.....
we all have choices. we just don't all make the right ones...

Revelation 21:4 is a promise from God that pain will be no more. Mental, emotional, and physical pain that has resulted from sin and imperfection (Romans 8:21, 22) will ‘be no more’ in the sense that its causes, such as disease and death, will be removed, thanks to Jesus sacrifical death. All in the Creator's due time.
Does that make sense to you?
