While on my side, I put my hands close together, almost like I'm praying, just in front of my face. Sometimes i have the fingers of one hand under the pillow (just fingers, not whole hand) and the other hand is on top of the pillow.
On my tummy, picture the "walk like and Egyptian" arm postures. One arm is bent at a 90 degree angle in front of my face, while the other is also bent at 90 degrees but its behind me and upside down.
On my back, I usually rest my hands on my tummy or once again, do the "egyptian" thing.

I sleep on my stomach with one hand under my thigh. It's terrible. After a long time, when I'm half asleep, I discover I've totally lost the feeling. It's so scary because it's actually numb! I start slapping it and rubbing it as hard as I can, but it takes like half an hour to get the feeling back. Then I put it back. I know this is probably not very good for me, but it's the only position I can get to sleep in.

When I am lying on my side, I put the hand of the bottom arm up beside my pillow but lying on the bed and the other arm rests on ny hip/thigh. When I am lying on my back I have both hands on my belly or beside my thighs. To find a comfortable sleeping position of your owe just try experimenting in different positions and every time your hand goes up to your face just lay it beside your body and not underneath it. Good luck.

I sleep on my stomach and usually have one hand (left hand) under the pillow and my other hand I usually have pulled up next to my side, elbow bent, hand balled up into a fist and resting around my chin. Hope that this helps.

I tend to put my hand under my face also. If you can't kick the habit I would try washing your hands with an oil controling facial wash before bed. I would also but a mask on your face at night. As far as your hands, try pytting them under your pillow.

I generally sleep either towards right side or towards left side, while I keep my hand under my face (under cheeks) which does not put pressure on the hand but gives a comfortable position.
At times a tend to sleep straight while face towards up side & while I tend to keep my hands on the chest or stomach - (this position is good for health)
I also found that for that matter any position when kept at a same angle for more periods gives strain and so our body generally shifts the angle automatically - but if we are over intoxicated in sleep even our slight sub conscious mind thoughts won't be sufficient enough to change our body angle.
I also found that sleeping on good (company stitched) bed is more comfortable while it puts even pressure on the whole body and is good for health.
Cotton stuffed local made beds are bit economical but I personally feel that they are not so good for health and body position for the reason that they put un even pressure on the body parts
I also feel that the pillow also makes us change our position adjusted in the sleep. I feel that pillow should be NOT so hard or Not so soft and should be bit normal in size so that when we sleep it should just support the gap between our head and shoulders - so that we adjust our body and hands angle in a proper non-pressurized position.
Also our sleep level should be soft, subtle and light; in contrast if we lie down in sleep as a dead body with out any sensitivity to outside world then also we tend to keep our hands in a same position for a long time (with out able to respond to the signals of body pain).
So we also need to take enough care that we take measures before sleep for managing sleep. Better to sleep atleast with 90 minutes of gap between food and sleep. Better to get fresh n up with luke warm water before sleep which removes the irksome of sweat, dirt, tiredness so that body gets rejuvenated during sleep and body does not keep any extra effort in dealing tiredness.

I hug my pillow so one hand is under it and one is on top of it. Since I am an old lady who sleeps alone, that way I can pretend that I am not alone :)

I used to have the same problem you have with the circulation, one day my whole arm went numb and I couldn't move it. Anyway, I put it under a pillow.
