My husband and I had a son almost two years ago and he was born with his right foot severly clubbed. Before 5 months of getting casts on it each week, and one surgery, it looked like it curved up like a candy cane hook. That foot is smaller than the other one and his clalf is smaller than the other leg.
What do you think the odds are that our next child will have the same birth defect?

Also, please keep him in your thoughts as we will be taking him to Kansas City Childrens Mercy for another surgery this month.

However as to your specific question as to what the odds are - since clubfoot does have hereditary and environmental factors, only genetic counseling can help you understand the odds with each pregnancy for having a child with clubfoot. Good luck to you and your son next month!
