Well, even the devil and demons "believe" in God. IF the murder asks Jesus to save him and asks for forgiveness and IF he believes and trusts in Jesus to take him to Heaven, then yes he is saved and will go to Heaven.

Confessing to a priest does nothing. Only God has the authority to forgive. If you understand that you are a sinner, that you have transgressed God's law, and you realize that Jesus died in payment for that sin. If you really understand that and accept Jesus as the Son of God, repent (turn from your sin, not just be sorry), and trust in the savior... then God can forgive a multitude of sins.

Right now, to anyone who has not done that, consider this:
Jesus said that if you are unjustly angry at another, you are a murderer at heart. You have already committed murder in God's eyes.

Accepting Jesus is the way to heaven. Confessing sins is just that, not a ticket to heaven. This is what I am taught from the Bible. IF the murderer accepts Jesus as his PERSONAL savior, accepts Jesus dying on the cross for ALL sins, then yes, murderer goes to heaven.

According to Christian teachings he may go to heaven depending on how sincere was his confessions. However, in the absence of an atonement for the sins he has committed, there is a temporary place they call purgatory as a cleansing place (sounds like detoxification for me) before he gets to heaven. Some consideration however too, a convict who has spent many years in the prison cell before execution and doing good inside may qualify it as part of an atonement. Only he and God may know it.

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's

a human priest does not qualify as inresessor between a man and God.
Jesus Christ is the ONLY intersessor.
Sins must be confessed to God; no human priest can forgive sins nor arrange to have them forgiven.
according to the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is God, here is what is required to go to Heaven. This is THE ONLY WAY:
John 3: The Words of Jesus Christ (God in the flesh)
3. "Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
4. Nicodemus saith unto Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"
5. Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God."
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18. He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

He would. The best example of this would be the Apostle Paul, who spent a majority of his life murdering the followers of Christ prior to his own conversion. Another is Jeffery Dahmer, who was converted and baptized while in prison.
We must all understand that any sin, be it murder or telling a lie, seperates us from God. There are no levels of sin in God's perspective. This is why it is hypocritical that a Christian should be judgemental. If you only have one sin in your life, you are in the same state as the greatest of sinners, as the Apostle Paul referred to himself. We are unable to save ourselves except through the Grace which God supplied through Jesus' own sacrifice.
It is hard to comprehend the justice that God holds for this world and his followers, but his power and truth are simple and unlimited past the point of our own understanding. Only we as humans put limits on God.

Only God knows what is in the hearts of men. So if a murderer confesses, before he is executed only God knows. And it is God's right and his right only to forgive if he chooses to.

Yes, if he has truly repented of his sins and accepted Jesus in his heart.

Just like Darwin, upon his death bed he confessed his theory was wrong and asked for forgiveness for leading so many astray. He accepted Jesus Christ into his heart before he died.

There is no purgatory to go to.. that's the difference (one of them) between Catholic and Protestant beliefs.

he should confess to God. sorry to burst your bubble, but we all have the priestly ability to ask God's forgiveness. God calls us Kings and Preists. His royal priesthood and a holy nation.

if a murderer sincerely believes....
1) God exists and is who He said He is
2) Christ is God who came in a human body
3) Christ died for his/her sins, as nobody can redeem themselves

and accepts/confesses (it should be confessed unless they are physically unable to talk) that
1) he/she knows that he/she is a sinner and he/she repents
(note: repentance is being sorry, saying it, and changing)
2) he/she wants to have a relationship with God
3) they thank Jesus for dying for them
4) they accept Him as Lord and Savior of their life

*this doesn't actually have to take long, as the first 3 in "believing" is basically of the mind
then they'll go to Heaven.
