This link says the biggest baby ever born was 22 lbs in 1955. Some recent big babies were 14.5 lbs in Mexico:

14 lbs 13 oz in Connecticut:

I personally have cared for a baby that weighed 12 lbs and twins that were over 8 lbs each (mom was 6 ft tall though).

If the doctor is saying your baby is going to be 17 lbs he/she should be scheduling your baby's lung profile and c-section now!

What? Are you sure he said 17 and not 7? It would be highly unlikely. That is unless he meant that your baby is going to be 17lbs when he is 5 months old!

You're kidding right? No, that's not a record. There was a kid born this week that was 15lbs. My best friend told me that the record is some kid that was born 20lbs or so back in like 1908.
God bless you.
