I'm giving my boyfriend a ring for our anniversary and I want to get Philippians 1:3 engraved on the inside because I think it's a really beautiful bible verse. I'm kind of iffy about it because I can't tell if it's romantic or more about praising Christ. What do you think?
3 I thank my God every time I remember you, 4constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, 5because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. 6I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. 7It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because you hold me in your heart,* for all of you share in God’s grace* with me, both in my imprisonment and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel. 8For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus. 9And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight 10to help you

It was not meant as romantic, but it could be quickly taken that way. If you want it to sound romantic, put the verses and a little personal note explaining how it applies to you and them.
It was actually Apostle Paul speaking about the Philippian church and how much they strive to be like Christ.

I think Phil 1:3 is more about praising Christ.
Now the one I like Song of Solomon 8:6-7
6. Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame.
7. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.
I hope he likes your present, I know my husband would appreciate something so thoughtful.

You can fit all that into a ring? He must have a really big finger. But, no, it doesn't skimp on the Jesus talk. Besides, who is "all of you?" Try something secular — and short.
