I have a 10 month old Shih Tzu puppy. She has been groomed at Pet Co and Pet Smart. Both require proof that the dog is current with their shots and will not take the dog without proof. I paid 50 dollars at both places to have her groomed (not counting tip) but you can pay less depending on what services you want done. The extra charges were for special baths and to have her teeth brushed. I will not be taking her back to Pet Co again. I had an appointment to have her done for 8:30 in the morning. Got her there at 8 AM. At noon, they hadn't even started on her yet. When they did do her it was rushed and she ended up with a terrible hair clip. Call your local Pet Co store and tell them what you want. They will give you a quote over the phone. Good luck.

Have you ever taken your poodle to be groomed elsewhere?
The price depends on the condition of the coat and the temperment of the dog.
PetSmart will charge extra for special handling (aggressive) and for extra brushing ($5 for every additional 15 minutes).
The nails, ear cleaning and anals are included in the bath price.
If your dog is not matted (tangled) and is not aggressive, it should only be somewhere around $22-$26.
Also, you do have to have up-to-date shots.
I used to work at PetSmart.
Most groom shops run about the same prices.
I should know, I've worked at 2 other groom shops (besides PetSmart).

Call them and ask for a quote. Your quote will be a base price, but can go up depending on the condition of the dogs coat, what you want done, and the temperment of the dog. Also depends on what area you are in.
Most grooming shops require at least a rabies vaccination. Some require distemper and bordetella (kennel cough) but rabies is a MUST...it's the law anyhow.

I always have heard negative reviews about petsmart. I just take my dogs to their vet to get groomed. The nail clipping is always free and the bathe is like 20 I think...But you could always call Petsmart and see if they have any specials and talk to your vet too!

I'm not 100% percent sure sorry, BUT! Someone my sister works for owns a dog and -a maltese- and she went to PetCo and got him washed and she said she wanted the dog just to get a bath but when she came back and he was shaved. Now, I'm not saying it will be the same thing at your local petco, but I'm just warning you just in case ;) Sorry I wasn't much help.

Prices vary from location to location, region to region.
I moved to Las Vegas from Fresno and the pricing is almost $20 higher in Las Vegas.
Your best bet is to call the location nearest you.

my pekingnese has been going there for about 2 years and its about 50$ for bath, haircut, nails clipped and ears cleaned. they do a good job and he always comes out looking handsome.
but you do need a record saying that your dog has been up-to-date on his shots (esp. rabies).
Good luck!

i was going to have my dog groomed there and they gave me a hard time. they wouldnt groom him because i didnt have an 'up to date' shot record. just make sure you have one if you go. give them a call to find out how much it is.
