In order to solve that you need to pay attention to what exactly it was that made him jealous--for example he might get jealous if you were just talking on the phone to an acquaintance and that would be an unreasonable feeling for him to be having in that situation. But if you were spending time in a hot tub with another man he's quite right to get extremely enraged with jealousy if he was in love with you.
So basically find out what it is that makes him jealous and either stop doing that or tell him he has no worries---you are only interested in him. You have to say that over and over and if he doesn't improve his behavior you have to consider looking out for number one.

Leave him, it's not worth it... it will get worse and possibly even abusive, believe me... been there done that.
