See your doctor and ask if they will prescribe you something like relafen. It is a powerful antiinflammatory. I broke my tail bone badly a few years ago and had to wait 3 days before getting to my doctor. She gave me a scrip for this and it worked marvelously. It took two years or more for the pain to completely disappear, but the five or six days of relafen really helped. fyi...There really is nothing you can have done for this. Try Relafen, it worked for me when I didn't think anything would. Good luck.

Oh man! I'm so sorry. Did you have x-rays done last year? Sounds like it could be a tiny fracture. There may be some nerve damage.
I would do this tonight:
Go to the store and get Epsom salts and two boxes of Salonpas patches, the small ones. Take a long bath with lots of Epsom salts, with the water as hot as you can stand it. Really relax and imagine your vacation pain-free.
After you have completely dried (wait a while after you dry off just to make sure there's no moisture on your skin) apply three Salonpas patches directly on to where it hurts. These things are amazing. They will absolutely relieve your pain, if not fully, to some degree. Keep them on constantly as long s you're in pain now and throughout your vacation (and always).
Vicodin is great of course, but if you can live with Advil or another OTC pain reliever, do. Vicodin would make you very sleepy on your vacation.

Try a good painkiller and don't drink any alcohol on the flight. Also, try one of those little round pilows often used for hemorroids. It might ease some of the pressure on your tailbone. Anytime you are allowed to stand on the plane.. do so!
Good luck, enjoy your vacation, and sorry about the tailbone. I can sympathize. Been there, done that.

OMG, I did that a month ago, and it still hurts! (Not to scare you) you will be in very bad pain for about a week or so (depending on how bad you hurt it). I'm 99% sure you didn't break it, because its REALLY hard to do that! Although, bruising may hurt just as bad as a break. My advice to you is to NOT relax so much! I tried to stay off it, and it hurt REALLY bad. It's the muscles that are hurt, so you need to get up and try to walk around frequently. It will hurt for awhile, but it will start feeling better soon! Good luck(:

If you can I would see your doctor. He/she can probably give you a better idea why the pain came back and give you something for it. Better safe than sorry.
