I am hopeful we are not alone, just not ready to meet these aliens yet. I am more fearful of humanities lack of advancement in compassion and other skills to get along with each other, you know. We enjoy killing and hurting each other too much. The pack mentality type thinking has to go. Alpha wolf/dog stuff does not work well with mixing peoples and cultures.
If we are alone then humanity will have to work better together, because we are wasting this planet, and are hardly ready to travel anywhere to stay alive, you know.
It's too early to be fearful that humanity can't change and advance mentally.

Being honest, I would not even care if I was the last person left alive in the universe, it would sort out that socialising situation that I would not need to buy planks of wood just to keep everyone outside.
Aliens I do not fear, because if they ever could reach the Earth, then I could not defend myself from any attack, since all they needed to do was set down a missle barrage from orbit.

We are fearful in both cases. In the first case, fear of earth war; in the second case, star war.
Fear will only cease when we realize that intelligent beings on earth and intelligent beings on other planets are also human beings, children of the One True God. If they are not intelligent, they can never reach us. If they are more intelligent than us, they will not act like beasts. We and people on other planets are only temporarily separated, like the separated tribes before the time we learned to cross the oceans.

If you live in Texas as I do---- no fear of being alone. There are aliens. They come from Mexico all the time.....

I don't see why we should be afraid of aliens. Although they probably exist. Being alone is the scariest thing that has ever happened. Humans are social creatures, they need company.

Its arrogant to think that human beings are the only life in the universe. If we exist, there stands to reason that other life exists as well.
