Then do you think it is ok to meet in person in a mutual place that is public, to get to know eachother further?

I never think it is a good idea to meet people you met online, but i think that if you really want to do it, you should. Make sure you tell someone where and when you are going just to be safe, make sure its a public place where there are a lot of people, in case something should go wrong. WELL it sounds to me u r a lil worried since u r asking for advice on this. well ask yourself what do u really know about him and his life?? i dont know anyone can say anything online since ur not directly in their life but if u do decide to see this guy then DEFINITELY SEE HIM IN A PUBLIC PLACE AND TELL A FEW OF UR FRIENDS AND OR FAMILY THAT U R GOING TO SEE THIS GUY AND WHERE U WILL BE. just be careful and take precautions!!!

I say it is still risky. But if you meet in a public place...you can feel each other out. Just take your time to really get to know this person be for you let them into your private space.

Yes. Did it on a transatlantic thing in 2003. Dated the girl for 14 mths. Broke up after I had to go attend business school back in europe.

yes. I've done it and it's much more accepted now than it use to be. If you meet someone in person it's the same thing, except you might even know less about them, so I say go for it.
