I suggest your own or a friend's backyard (if anyone you know has a decent one!). My husband and I got married at a friends gorgeous house overlooking vineyards. I guess you really have to know people with great homes, though. If not, gardens and parks are great ideas. Any place that naturally looks beautiful is a great thing, then you don't have to decorate as much or pay for as many flowers!

My wife and I had ours in our living room. If you want more guests the park idea is excellent . My friend went that route and an outdoor wedding is something special. If you're religious, what better church could you possibly have? If you are not, who doesn't enjoy a beautiful, sunny day outside?
You can still have the reception indoors if you want. We paid for our own wedding and felt instead of spending a lot of money on it, let's have a nice time with our friends.

you will get married extraordinarily much everywhere on the instant; hotel, B&B, yacht (no captains won't be able to marry you via the distinctive function of their being a deliver captain) park, farm, coastline, vineyard, even the venue the place you're having your reception, which contain a eating place. i've got completed weddings in hotel rooms, people's residences, lower back yards and churches. in case you will get previous the stigma, Walmart & grocery shops have superb tarts. carry a single rose as a replace of an entire bouquet. to discover an officiant type into Yahoo your city, state & wedding ceremony officiant (no 's' on the top) you've got some to choose from, regularly on the 2nd web site. the better bridal sites seem to get good billing. in case you do bypass to the bridal sites, please bypass to the positioning of somebody you think of you may desire to like. those bridal sites make distributors & officiants pay on your touch information so which you will possibly no longer hear lower back from somebody you may was hoping. stable success & congratulations!

Describe "Cheap." My wife and I married in the rose garden of a restaurant. I'm an historian, specialize in early aviation. So, we rented the 94th Aero Squadron -- a chain/theme resaurant replicating an old French farmhouse in WW I. With just under 100 people in attendance, catered meal and a cash bar, we did it for just under $5000 -- Southern California, kind of expensive. And yes, the wedding party was dressed in period attire (tuxes and gowns).

I've just married for the 2nd time and we decided to have ours at home in the backyard with just family attending, we had it the afternoon with afternoon tea instead of a reception, it was a special day as it was exactly what we wanted. All up it cost around $NZ1000 and that was including my dress which I bought brand new from Ebay.

try renting a fire hall...make your own favors...I got place cards at dollar tree... google 'frugal weddings' ...I'm using a caterer that doesn't always do weddings(buffet,$13 a person)...get a small cake for show and have sheet cakes in the back to cut up and pass out no one will notice-I am making my own cupcakes with our monogram on them...also consider off-season. My wedding is 3/31 and I got alot of breaks since it is the day before the big wedding season starts...borrow a dress, tiara anything you can
good luck

try local parks--- i'm getting married in VA at a park and it was $150 to rent a gazebo out, and less than $300 to rent out the recreation center at the park. the recreation center includes chairs, tables, industrial size kitchen, coffee makers, and tons of other small perks. getting married and having the reception at the park saved me hunderds of dollars!

In order of economy:
1) courthouse
2) home/park wedding with clergy from small church where you are a member
3) small church where you are a member
4) 'free-lance' clergy
5) larger church where you are a member
6) small church where you are not a member (many United Methodist, United Church of Christ, and American Baptist churches will marry non-members)
Otherwise, come to South Dakota - I can do it. :D
