I've been working with kids for ages. The key is to catch their attention. They absolutely love art and crafts activities. I used to replace the sand in the sand tray with coloured rice or dried pasta. There's cornflour dough as well (just cornflour and water) that makes an absolutely amazing texture when you place it on trays. You can write in it or pour it, etc. If you want to get a few kids together to do a big painting project together, try to get them to paint a huge rainbow on a big piece or paper. They also love songs and rhymes with actions and stories read with lots of passion! It's also quite interesting to
put well known equipment in new places, i.e. drawing outside ( you can try rubbing surfaces on papers with wax crayons), using cardbooard boxes to build things with, etc.
One of the most interesting activities I ever did was to give kids cheap throw away cameras for a day to take pictures of whatever they wanted. We got them developed and made a huge display. it turned out really well and the kids loved it.
Good luck!

My kids had a wonderfull teacher, and something she did every year was V.I.P days. Very Important Preschooler. Every Child had a special rostered day, They bought in special items for show and tell, had photos to share, got to do the special classroom actitivies like the weather chart, chhosing the story feeding the fish ect...They got a badge to wear for the day and a special certificate at the end of the day, and their mums were on roster. But the part all the kids liked best was "Max/Maxine", it was a cloth doll preschooler size, who they got to take home for a sleepover, He/She came with his own backpack with toothbrush brush pj's change of clothes ect and a diary which cronicled the adventures of max?maxines sleepovers! Our "Maxie had so many adventures!!The parents and the kids loved it!And it was very amusing when max came back in subequent years with the older children of the family, or had some catastrophy like being drawn on by a younger sibling!!Our Maxie lived for nearly ten years in our town, but sadly here in oz there is no more preschool, so no more maxie!!

Of course well first show that you are a nice and kind teacher also make sure you are fun with them! Well first you should start of with an art project like hand painting or finger painting! you could teach them all their manners and how to be respectful also play with them have fun with them and important of all talk to them and make sure they know the rules of the class tell them what are the consequences if they don't follow the rules!

Give them lots of games like coloring, finger painting. Try different arts and crafts project, but incorperate learning into it. Add in the alphabet. You could also do a "treasure hunt" were the kids hunt for "number treasures". Best of Luck!

i use to volunteer as a pre-school teacher... well on one side of the classroom, we had a little fake kitchen and bedroom... we had pets that we took care of in class.... we did coloring... we mostly did paintings.... teach them the ABC's and the numbers 1 through 10... have them sing... sleep time.. and movies.... another thing we did( this includes permission from the Principal) is we went to this place called '' brake the barriers''.... we their did karate, dance, and gymnastics... we took they most top special third graders and they help the little ones...but it don't matter where they go as long as it is involved with the economy... have fun...

bypass getting the little ones presents. they'll make issues in college and likewise they'll probable have a celebration or some thing. even as they have a celebration make a contribution a nutrition or yet another merchandise they pick. i'd stick with only getting the adults presents. flow to a dollarstore and get some little issues in retaining with everyone. upload on: with nutrition products you need to be careful there are countless little ones with hypersensitive reactions to different ingredients.... you may want to continually make sweet cane reindeer for the little ones: get googly eyes, brown pipe cleaners for the antlers, pink pompom for the nostril, and a sweet cane. examine on line for instructions. i exploit a warm glue gun to cause them to.

I remember my first day of pre-school. It was fun, what we did was:
played the name game (everyone says his/her name and like a something they were. I was Alli fun.) Then we drew pictures of our family. After that our teacher read to us. After that snack then nap. Next, we did our initials (with the help of our teacher) and with glue and beans glued it and took it home.

i suggest that you start of with games to catch their attention. also include songs in your lessons! it helps them memorize more. try recreational arts. you don't have to get so formal with them so its more of educational games. hmm. try educational tv shows.
