1. Make sure you are holding the pen/pencil correctly. Improper grip can make neat writing difficult.

2. Practice with individual strokes (the individual components of the letters). Practice each stroke until you can to id consistently every time.

3. Practice while thinking of each letter, one at a time, not the entire word. (Don't get ahead of yourself.)

4. Be patient when writing. Don't rush.

5. Be patient in looking for improvment. Changes in your handwriting will be slow and subtle.

Hi. You can change that by just practicing about, 10 min. everyday. I used to have the same problem. You are right, everyone can write slowly and have GREAT handwriting. But, it does take a while to do that. Try putting little curls at the end of some letters. For example: l, i, h, d, a, n, m, and many more. That can make your handwriting look a lot better then it really is. Just don't over due the curls! I do this all the time. For my i's, I even do the dot of the i as a heart. Teacher's Love That! Hopes this helps! ; )

Practice, Practice, Practice. I understand how you feel. I can't write in cursive to save my life. Imagine how bad it is to try and sign checks.

My suggestion is to visualize the font on the computer. (Like Times New Roman or Arial) Keep them in mind while you're writing. And as you practice, don't speed through them. Go slow. By starting slow, you're training the muscles in your hand the motions. Believe it or not, but there is such a thing as muscle memory. Eventually, you'll be able to write much clearer without having to think about it.

But, it does take practice.

Practice, practice, practice...we seemed to have lost the art of handwriting with the invention of email, text messaging etc. Take a writing class at a local college if need be...

Going to take practice is all.
Next time you are on the phone, in front of the tv, or just sitting daydreaming, practice your handwriting over and over again. Since this is the electronic age, keyboards are taking over our hands instead of handwriting.....

Get the booklets at a learning store and practice with those. My brother had horrible hand writing but he improved drastically by practicing everyday.

I have the exact same problem. Don't change, just act very offended when someone can't read your handwriting. Or joke about it.

You just have to keep practicing. I had to write lines when I was little and got in trouble, and believe me, you can see the difference practice makes. :)
