My brother continuously pops his knuckles. I not sure if that causes arthritis. Does it?

I saw a study done that says not only does it not cause arthritis but, at least for older people, it keeps their hands flexible, exercised and less likely to get arthritis.

I'm not a doctor but I have had that habit for as long as I can remember. I asked a doctor the same question you asked and he told me it didn't cause arthritis. I am 69 years old and have a little arthritis in all my joints and my fingers are the only joints I pop. I can still play a guitar and my mandolin so I wouldn't worry about him popping his knuckles

when i was a kid...my pediatrician told my mother that it did not cause arthritis. he said it is simply air moving out of the knuckle. it was the use of the hands over a period of your life and how you used them that caused arthritis.

it really is not, people all have their evaluations on them, with my friends now and again it is going to grow to be a contest, one guy pops his knuckles, and then yet another guy tries to pop his louder, then it is going on till eventually someone fails or is outmatched. regardless of the indisputable fact that it quite relies upon on the individuals round you.
