Be VERY careful about buying a dog that has a cheap price tag. Most dogs that are cheap are in bad breeding situations, typically puppy mills, and can have lots of health problems due to the breeder not taking the time to do it right. Why don't you try a local humane society or shelter? They sometimes get puppies, and an adoption with one of them is usually around $50 and includes getting the dog fixed (which can run well over $100!!!).

Go to the animal shelter, they always have puppies.Or look in your local news papers. But there is no such thing as a cheap or free dog. There is the vet bills[ that is for all the shots or if it gets sick] and there is the food.Plus you have to give it proper shelter if it is a out side dog[ cost of buying a dog house or lumber to make it your self. Not to mention toys and teething stuff like chews. And if you can manage that, it still is not the cheapest. l never had a cheap dog.May be l got one free, but the money l invested in it was far from being cheap but good luck and l hope l did not scare you away from getting a pet for your son. It will all work out.

A puppy might not be the best choice for a small child, then you will have 2 babies to look after. Go to your local animal rescue and see if anything there clicks. There are lots of great animals that need good home. You may save a life.

check petfinder.com, but i highly recommend checking out your local Humane Societies, and especially your local Animal Control. Both Humane Society and Animal Control provide a check up, give all necessary vaccines, and neuter or spay all pets once they are adopted. Most Animal Control facilities will also provide you with license for your puppy... plus usually Animal Control is usually the cheapest by far.. usually costing around $100-$150... which is less than you'll spend on your puppies first vet visit if you were to buy a puppy from somewhere else.

Look at the dog pound.
There are plenty of puppies waiting for a new home and they're usually a lot cheaper than buying one from a pet store or from a breeder.
On top of that, you'd be saving a dog's life...most pounds euthanize dogs after they go a certain period of time without being bought.

You should go to an animal shelter. They have nice puppies there that may have been abused , abandoned, or something else. But they are still nice because they are just puppies and they don't really know or remember what has happened to them, so they probably won't dislike humans.

your local animal shelter - these dogs need homes and you pay a small fee and get a great dog that has had its shots and been spayed or neutered and you help that dog have a good home
