You are going to have to flush the coolant system. The flush that you buy off the shelf sometimes works OK,but the best way is to remove the radiator and take it to a radiator shop and have it put in the acid tank. Also make sure that the thermostat has the right temperture rating and that it didn't get installed backwards. Have the radiator cap tested or replace it.A weak cap won't allow the system to pressurize and without pressure the boiling point of the coolant is significantly lower and tends to overheat the engine. With a weak cap,the pressure starts to release to early and the cap starts to draw in air as the engine cools, explaining why you have pressure in the morning.Make sure the cap is the correct rating. Another thing to look for is white colored exhaust. If you have this, that means that you might have a cracked head or need a head gasket. If you have bubbles coming out of the radiator fill, that's a classic sign of head problems that can also cause overheating. You want to look for the white smoke after you've driven it for a while, not when you first start it in the morning. That smoke is condensation from the catalytic converter and is normal. Also check for a restriction in the exhaust, like in the tailpipe or a restricted catalytic converter.Restricted exhaust system will cause over heating.

Does not sound like a leak..... Check fan, with motor off... take in hand and try to spin it if it turn freely, it is bad and have your radiator cap checked...
A blown head gasket would give white smoke out the tail end of car... and water in oil... Always give the age of the car when asking a question.. If you can not put a flashlight on one side of radiator and see the light on the other side... Clean and
flush....

do you hear any hissing from your engine? if so you could be losing pressure. also i would have your radiator flushed and refilled in any case by a mechanic. if it is damaged, replace it. also a new pressure cap for the radiator is also a good idea when your doing the flush if there is nothing wrong with the radiator.

Depending on year, you may have TWO thermostats in the car.
some of them had one in the lower radiator hose also.
You may also have a clogged radiator. If it is still holding pressure in the morning, it is not a bad head or head gasket.
You may also have a inoperative fan, or a bad fan switch.
Have you back-flushed it?
