Because it's easier for one who is borderline retarded to understand.
It's easier to explain Noah and adam and eve to a child than evolution and animals and geology,
especially for people who have hardly any science education and are dull in the mind,
there's your explanation.

No.
Noah's Flood described a local event. Three centuries before Christ, Hellenistic philosophers had already determined that the earth revolves around the sun, and had calculated the circumfrance of the earth and the distance from the earth to the sun. It is not surprising that the Jews interpreted Noah's flood as a local event. The historian Josephus talks about the many survivors who retreated to the hills during the flood. In the early Church, most Christian theologians rejected the idea of a young earth, and read the Bible in an allegorical sense.
Ironically, it was the advent of modern science that produced the anti-intellectual backlash that so many people associate with Christianity.

How much knowledge does it take to post a narrow-minded statement like this? How much blind faith does it take to unquestioningly accept the indoctrination of modern pseudo-science? Modern real science has confirmed many of the statements in the Bible, including the notion of a worldwide flood. In every part of the world, the geologic column contains a flood layer, all of which dates back to the same time, thereby confirming that a worldwide flood of some kind DID occur. In addition, anthropology had discovered that almost major ethnic group and culture in the world has a flood story. Marine architects have recreated the Arc in scale model from the Bible description and found it would not only have floated for the time specified, it would have stood up to 60 to 100 foot waves, would have been self-righting, and well with in the technology of the time to be built.
Dont ask questions you think you already know the answers to, especially when those answers are as wrong as the ones lyou have posted here. Rhetoric need to be more than just hot air.
Other ways science has confirmed the Bible is the Big Bang Theory (creation), plate tectonics, (Genesis), the springs in the ocean (Book of Job), the fact that stars can be listened to (Book of Job, Daniel, other places). In addition, the existence of Sodom and Gomorrah has pretty well been proven, there are cities on the bottom of the dead sea which correspond to these two municipalities. Recent tracing of Mitochondrial DNA has shown that we all came from the same ancester (Eve). A similar trace of the Paternal DNA appears to be pointing in the same direction (Adam) In addition the DNA record shows every branch of the human race came from the same place (garden of Eden) which is pretty much where the Bible said it was. LInguists believe there was a proto-language once spoken by all the worlds inhabitants which was broken up into several language groups. These are what all our languages are descended from (Tower of Babel, in fact the actual tower ruins have been found) All the continents were once all connected (Genesis "all the land was gathered in one place"). Science is finding that our DNA is being progressively damaged by increased natural radiation as it is passed from one generation to the next (the longer lifespans of the pre-flood people, and the quick decline in lifespan in the people after the flood). There, any more knowledge you need? Sorry to rattle your blind faith in secular scientifical dogma. Hurts to have an open mind. There is much more, but I am running out of time.

Strange that you ask about Christians with this. The Jews believed the Flood story long before Jesus came on the scene. What has science got to do with the Flood anyway? True science has done nothing but PROVE the Bible. Pseudo-science, such as the THEORY of evolution, is the culprit for trying to disprove the Bible and the stories therein and it'll never do that because truth cannot be denied. You can certainly choose to not believe, but that doesn't make it not true. Religion is weakening not because of science, but because more and more people are choosing to live as the world lives, and the Bible says to love of the world is enmity with God. Though, isn't it better to live as if there IS a God, that to live like there isn't and find out there is?

I personally believe that Christian's do not always believe everything they have read. however if they were to say that one thing didn't happen then they would have to question everything in the great book. I think it's crazy that they choose to believe these extreme thing's yet in the name of science when something is created it is an abomination. Why do they not assume that the person they look up to and cherish has created these things for their benefit? They only choose to partake in the past and usually choose not to contribute anything to the present or the future. I do not speak of all Christian's either. I know I will get thumbs down and I will not apologize. Religion in the past 6 years or so has really turned people off. I don't believe their higher power would want them fighting outside of courthouses with signs screaming inflammatory things at people who have different views or lifestyles.

I think religion will weaken as long as people expect it to answer historical questions. Despite the Bible seeming like an historical document, its real relevance now is as a spiritual and moral guide. The New Testament is an account of superlative love and community and, if lived, would strengthen those who live it. I can't reconcile faith and science point by point but luckily I don't have to. There room in our minds and spirits for both.

Why are we meditating then if there were not something great to meditate on? religion is just a word. to me lifestyle says everything. religion is a form or its now this art that u are talking about because it repeated and acted on in the same manner each time. A lifestyle is now living with liberty. for what its worth it will continue to awaken and be a form of meditation and art and also it is such a distraction from what really should be the issue of talk.

Do you mean like the Greek Gods? There is no flaming chariot that illuminates the sky above us, every day? Does anyone still believe in them Gods?
The Catholic church had a problem when the world was not FLAT anymore. Then They had a problem when the planets were discovered by Galileo. Then they couldn't make up their mind about limbo, a fews time, changing their views. And unbaptized babies that died, do they go to heaven now?
To answer your question... YES.

Perhaps you can try to clarify your question and ask it directly instead of talking in circles and then answering yourself. I'm sure your opinion is very important to you, but it's not much of a question.
Most objective people would tell you that there is more diversity in religion than ever before and that most religions are currently undergoing a renaissance period. That seems to be in direct conflict with your argument.

Yep, I am not a Christian, but I believe there is some truth in the great flood, and as for modern science, it backs up the flood theory, through tectonic movement and tsunami.
