I am having a very hard time waking up in the morning. My eyes are so heavy every morning and I can enver seem motivated to wake up. Even mornings when I do wake up, I end up going back to sleep an hour or 2 later. Its very hard for me. The only thing that works is cofee or cappuccino but that gets me very sick. Does anyone have any solutions. I'm a night hawk but need to change it. I work at home also so thats no way to motivate me.

Regular exercise, going to bed and getting up at the same time every day, healthy balanced diet, avoiding caffeinated products, showering first thing in th morning, jumping up and getting busy immediately in the morning can all help. Also, you may want to see a dr. because there are a lot of medical conditions that have excessive fatigue as a symptom including depression, some auto-immune disorders. I saw three doctors over the course of 14 years finally getting diagnosed with narcolepsy after several sleep studies! Its well controlled with medication!

Try to get a full 8 hour, peaceful and restful sleep at night. Then you will have no difficulty in getting up in the morning!

After you try this for one month, and if there is absolutely no improvement, you go and see a sleep specialist. You might have the condition called apnea, which is breathing difficulties during sleep.

I feel the same way.. except I'm pregnant and I have to get up for my son. lol I stay up all night till like 5-6am, I can't sleep for some reason at night and try to take benadryl to go to sleep.. which doesn't help. But the only reason I get out of bed is to get up with my son and play with him. I swear though.. if he was a year or two older i would have him get up on his own. So sad I know. I don't know if it is from the hormones or not though. but i have never been a morning person. Do you wake up on your own? Or do you set an alarm? If you wake up on your own try like getting up and going to the bathroom... splash some cold water on you or jump in the shower... other than that.. no idea except try to go to sleep earlier. goodluck with that

When my daughter was in her late teens, she was a night owl and could not get to sleep at a decent hour. She started drinking "Sleep Tea" and that worked. She said the first cup was a little strange tasting, because it has peppermint in it, but after that she truly enjoyed her sleepy time ritual and was able to doze right off to sleep and not have that hang over feeling the next morning that you get from so many sleep aids. Try it and good luck.
