There are still people who deny the reality of global warming?
Even BushCo has had to do a 360 on that one, and I doubt it was just to help Al Gore's DVD sales.
But no, I know that there will always be lingering fruitcakes for every ridiculous idea - Creationism comes to mind. And yes, there DOES seem to be a lot of crossover with ridiculous ideas, especially amongst religious freaks.
As for the "How much of it is caused by humans" debate - that always makes me laugh. Only the very fruitiest of the fruitcakes would trouble to argue that global warming is "good" for humans (I think Dan Quayle did once). Nor would most people contend that we don't contribute to some degree. So the question is, why defend practices that make a bad situation worse?

There's nothing humans can do to cause the rapture to happen. Just like there's nothing humans can do to bring about the end of the world any earlier than it's supposed to happen. Global warming and the rapture? What have you been drinking to cause you to connect those two?

I honestly believe that the majority of Global Warming Denialists believe that this should be left in god's hands. Some of these are the same folks who believe ideas such as the earth is 6000 yrs old.

I'm an atheist and I'm still skeptical about human causes for global warming. Not enough data for conclusions, and a lot of alarmists out to make a quick buck selling books, movies and seminars. Not that I contend polluting the planet is a good idea.
Anybody remember the global cooling scare in the 70's?

actually, to those who answered, goodness knows how many times I've typed this out today lol...anyway
the IPCC released their official report yesterday from research done by many many scientists from around the world
the result:
there is a 90 percent probability that humans are the PRIMARY cause of global warming, that is up from a 66 percent probability in 2001
the evidence is therefore overwhelming
I don't just trust this data either, I've been studying this for a couple of years and I understand the effect that the slightest human influence on the otherwise natural carbon cycle has
the measurements speak for themselves and now we have the evidence

The earth has been around for millions of years and will be around for millions of years after we are gone. It can take care of itself. How can people say that we are a threat to the earth?
Ask the people of New Orleans if they feel like they are a threat to the Earth. Or the people of Indonesia who are being flooded out of their homes as we speak if they feel like they are a threat to the Earth. Or the people who were affected by the tsunamis in 2004 if they feel like a threat to the environment. I bet the 80,000 people who died in Pakistan in the 2005 earthquake didn't feel like they were threating the environment. I'm sure that the people in China who are facing a drought don't feel like a threat to the Earth. What about the hundreds of homes that were burned in wildfires every year, I bet those people don't feel like they are a threat to the Earth.
Global Warming...LMAO...The Earth will be just fine

What's a denialist? Almost everyone admits that global warming is occurring. It's whether or not humans are to blame that is being debated.

Do you think that because someone believes in the rapture that they don't care about the world or their children? People always care about their kids and the world unless they are a nut case.

None of the above. It's just that there's nothing we can do about it that will matter. Sure, replacing oil with renewable power is a great idea and should be done. But why should we listen to Liberals who do nothing but cry wolf to sell their BS storyline? Global cooling, global warming, ozone holes,... the list goes on and on. After awhile, they lose their credibility. They don't like that? TOUGH!
