I keep my house at 68 usually, but 70 isn't that high. How far does he turn it down? Try setting it at 68-69, it sounds a lot cooler than 70 (just like items in the store are priced $19.95 instead of $20 :)) and while it really doesn't make as much of a difference it may keep him from turning it down a few degrees more! Especially if it's a digital display this visual/psychological trick is worth a try. :)

Personally 70 is too hot for me. But people can get used to that temp after a while. But I honestly don't think you can say much about it because he is helping you out. If you are helping out with the utilities maybe tell him that you want to keep it at 70 to cut back on costs. That way he might be more understanding than if you just tell him "I like it on 70 and so don't effen touch it!"

70 would be so nice! My house is set at about 65, and it's about 10 below outside with a 20 below windchill! (frugal spouse)
To answer your question, I agree with those who said it depends on who is paying the bill. It's his house - he should control the temp. You can always put on an extra layer of clothes, which is what I do.

We keep our house at 68-70. Maybe you could talk to him about it and come to a compromise you will both be happy with.

68 to 70 sounds reasonable to me. My husband would have the house like a meat-locker if I let him though.

No not at all - we do it all the time @ our house and it's very comfy. On days when the temp drops, the we raise it up to 72.

it variety of appears like you may take care of the chilly through wearing a sweater yet she cant, so why no longer settle in between. it would want to or may no longer help your bill yet you may attempt putting it to sixty seven ranges, that way its no longer as intense as 70 and under no circumstances as low as sixty 4. even although u can take care of sixty 4 ranges she may no longer pick to ought to positioned on a sweater, so somewhat bumps up the nice and cozy temperature.
