I've eaten a lot of mac and cheese from this discount food store -- Save-a-lot -- usually get it near the expiration date -- pasta holds up well and can be used in other dishes but the cheese gets kind of hard and doesn't taste very good .. except for kraft mac and cheese which is still good for some time after expiration..

The pasta's probably fine (unless there are bugs in it) but I'd shy away from the cheese sauce powder... how expired is it? A day? A month? Three years? That would make a difference...

If its the dry kind in abox it'll be fine unless it has gotten wet, if it has gotten wet it may have mildewed so don't eat it. If not it may just take a little longer to cook.

The powdered cheese is fine as well as long as it has stayed dry.

Think about k-rations for the military, they keep that stuff for years.
