Yes......how stupid is that. Really we should BOYCOTT FOREIGN GOODS ALL TOGETHER TO GET AMERICA BACK TO BEING NUMBER 1. If I deal with any company who thinks its better to have products made in china or japan over making them here I DON'T BUT THEIR GOODS. I may have to look harder for a product but Iam not supporting Japan or China.

This is not new. GM has been building cars in Canada and Mexico for years.
But you're right, let's buy American. Toyotas, Hondas, Subarus, BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes, Hyundais, and others -- more than 40 models of foreign cars, minivans, SUVS, and pickup trucks -- are rolling off assembly lines at 15 plants in the United States
Let's not buy foreign, like the German made Chrysler and stick instead to the Texas made Toyota Tundra!

Have you ever been to a union auto plant? Most of the people working there wouldn't get paid what they are making anywhere else because the union keeps the wages high. I repair machines that are used in the auto world by most manufacturers and I can say most auto workers are over paid for the little work they do. no wonder auto makers want to move out of the country. How many times has Muncie transmission been sold and renamed? I was there a couple years ago and one of the assembly line workers was making almost $28 an hour to put a shifter handle on the unit, this involved putting the shifter in place and using an impact wrench to tighten 4 bolts.
As for "foreign" cars most are made in the US to avoid paying import taxes. Nissan is made in TN, Mercedes in AL, BMW in SC, Toyota in CA. And by the way these are "American" workers.
Pontiac and Toyota share (Vibe and Matrix), GM and Isuzu, Mitsubishi and Chrysler, Mercedes and Chrysler, Mazda and Ford

i purchased my GM automobile merely in the previous all this mess began. I now understand why they went bankrupt. IT SUCKS! The transmission failed in a million year, the move case has lengthy gone out two times, trim is falling off everywhere. I hate this element. MY boycott will be lifelong and we be in accordance to this journey on my own. As for the authorities bailouts. Crysler change into depending with assistance from a guy who were a carriage maker yet went out of bussiness reason autos took over. What ought to ensue if he'd gotten a bailout to shop the carriage marketplace allive. authorities idiots is what we've the following. also, all and multiple seems botcotting. The "salary" of GM were via higher sales to the federal authorities. the finished boost in deepest sector US sales change into a million% compared to 7% with assistance from different manufacturers (except Crysler who lost even extra money). No marvel the following, Obama has directed the U. S. gov to apply stimulus money (debt) to with assistance from his autos so he can declare they made a income so he can launch an IPO in the previous the elections. Even more effective, the IPO will very last from mid october through thanksgiving so as that as quickly because it get only a a million/4 of the claimed capital contained in the first 2 weeks he will say it is "on %." to attain adequate after the elections are over.

Don't know where the heck u got ur stuff, but it is not true. Don't boycott them. What they need now more than ever is more people buying their cars. I should know. I'm from Lansing, Michigan. The GM town. 4 GM plants have closed down in the last 2 years because of people 'boycotting' GM. It has wreaked havoc on our state's economy! The only reason why GM is still in Lansing is because there is a plant that makes Cadillac CTS, CTS-V, STS, STS-V, and the SRX. Another plant makes the Buick Enclave, Saturn Outlook, and GMC Acadia. DON'T BOYCOTT GM! THEY WILL NOT ALL MOVE TO ASIA! GUARANTEED!

Car Company Greed? I think you way are off the mark. The labor unions have forced the domestic car companies to look for manufacturing in other countries. Ford, for example, lost $1900 for every car they sold. How long would they be in business if they lost $12B every year. It is funny how Toyota & Honda are coming here and turning a profit. No Unions.

But General Motors is the largest producer of renewable fuel users, they make the E85 vehicles does that not give them some points?
Besides the reason they are having to go somewhere else is the American unions - they cannot compete when they have to pay 4 times the wages, 10 times the benefits, and 10 times the taxes.
Mark my words they are not the first company to go overseas (many of my software engineering jobs have been outsourced) and they will not be the last.
This one world ideal is all fine and good if all you look at is that others get a better life - but theirs gets better at the cost of ours declining
Soylent Green anyone?

hell cars are the second most expensive asset you have
just think about how much it cost to build a car
or just change value over principle

Well, My truck was made in shreveport LA, so I'm not complaining.
you know Nissan makes their cars in Tennessee.
Times change, thats life.
So why boycott them, just go work for Nissan if it ticks you off that much, or go work for the railroad like me, the more cars coming out of the ports, the more jobs I get, so I have great job security. even though our locomotives are built by GM in Canada you can't export transportation.
hate to break it to you but you aint gonna find anyone in the US that wants to turn bolts for 30 cents an hour, unless you turn to the immigrants, but I'll bet you want them deported or shot anyway, so unless you yourself are willing to do the job for the same price, live with it.
Come to think of it, you seem like an overly patriotic douchbag, that won't even touch an imported beer, and are probably ticked that our founding fathers were born in England!
