The most I have heard of around here is 4. A bridge getter fell on a car with a family of 4. In another one a van full of 16 illegal aliens hit the back of a parked semi trailer and killed 4 at a rest stop on the interstate.

I have heard stories of 40 to 50 people killed in bus accidents in countries such as India & Mexico but from first hand personal knowledge, 14 farm workers in an eight seat passenger van (there were actually 22 of them inside the vehicle). The rear bench seats had been removed so there were no seat belts other than for the driver and the front seat passenger. The van made a left turn in front of an oncoming dump truck. The vehicle was t-boned and several of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle through the rear door when it flew open.
