The plywood is first wrapped in batting to give it softness and the batting is stapled to the board. Then the cloth is wrapped. The valances would be approximately two different sizes: 1) 7 feet long by 18 inches deep to go over a sliding glass door, and 2) 3 feet by 18 inches for two smaller windows.

Use basic L-shaped brackets. Screw one side of the L to the top of the valance and the other to the wall above the window or the sliding door. Make certain to use anchors in the wall if it is sheetrock. Place an L-shaped bracket on each end and one in the middle of the valance. This will do the job nicely and make sure that the plywood base stays up. It'll be ready in a jiffy.

You would use an "L" bracket, named because it looks like the letter L! You can find these at hardware stores-- ask the salesperson the size you would need for the length and weight of your cornices.
