I say this country is fed up with politically correctness. Call it whatever you want.

I've heard people refer to themselves as "big" in a non-derogatory way. I would hope they wouldn't be offended to hear others use that term. Trouble is, it's different for everybody. Overweight people haven't organized to decide what they want to be called, that I know of. Another term I hear people use for themselves is "heavy." I don't know about "large," but if used sensibly, it might work, especially for men. All of these would depend greatly on how it is used, along with the voice inflection you use. If you really don't feel animosity towards a person, your voice should reflect that no matter what you say.

Likewise, some of the people who have answered so glibly with insulting terms could never find a term that would not be offensive, since they themselves are offensive, insensitive people. Their hearts would have to change first.

Obese

Obese covers it, but I doubt that it's politically correct. And I can't think of a single descriptive word that someone wouldn't be offended by.

"Very well nourished" maybe, even tho that isn't really correct.

Large build, stocky or heavy-set are the politically correct terms for people that are obese, overweight or otherwise gross looking fat asses.

well according to my friends mom, fat, chubby, chunky, heavy, obese, or overweight are all mean. but fat isnt a complement, so probably overweight, not rude at all. sometimes the truth needs to come out

"overweight" or "obese" are as politically correct as you're going to get. what's the politically correct term for "anal-raping child murderer"? get my point?

Obese is the medical term.
If it's a female, curvy is currently trendy.
If it's a male ---- ummmm... no idea!

The only correct thing is not to mention it. If You really have to comment/describe someone with such a problem, any euphemism will do.
