I was going 96 in a 70. The officer wrote it as reckless driving. I can't pay it online for some reason, so I was thinking maybe I have to go to court. But, if I signed the ticket pleading guilty and mailed the fine for speeding 96 in a 70, would that put an end to this? And, another question..if I go to court, do I have to pay court costs or any other fines? Thanks.

you dont necessarily have to recieve a summons in the mail - its usually attached to the ticket itself. look on the ticket and see if it has a court date anywhere on it. it sounds like you will be having a day in court. if you are still confused call the county clerks office. they can tell you if you are to appear, when and what court. and if you plead guilty you will have to pay court costs but you can set up a payment plan with the court clerks

You have to pay court costs even if you don't appear in court. The court clerk still has to process the ticket and the payment. I never had a reckless driving ticket, but I've had speeding tickets. If you actually read the receipt, court costs are included in the 'fine' listed on the ticket. The time I actually went to court, I actually paid less without contesting the charge.

If there is no fine on the ticket, then yes you probably have to go to court. I would find the phone number of the county courthouse and call them first thing Monday morning. They should be able to tell you what you have to do.

If you go to court you DO have to pay court costs. You can probably mail in the payment, OR better yet, pay it IN PERSON. If you have to go to court you will receive a Summons in the mail.
